I am very tempted to trade in my odyssey 2020 to get this one with little bit cash on top. Honda strong value will help me a ton. Definitely getting the standard hybrid xle coz fuel average is the reason why I don’t like odyssey other than that it’s a perfect family car.

Unfortunately not, we typically get one or two days of snow a year, and haven’t had it on those days yet.

I really wanted to see this because I have the 2021 Platinum with torque vectoring which to me is the best thing Toyota has ever come up with.....even better than this 2024 IMHO.

How come cx9 has a higher ground clearance with 8.8 touched the ground while toyota only 8 made it?

Approach angles and ride heights are two different metrics. Also, we ran the cx9 on our hill test in Texas, the Grand Highlander we ran on a hill in Hawaii. The Hawaii hill is far more forgiving in terms of approach angle than the Texas hill.

My old 1994 Honda accord will claim this hill This suv it’s not made for off-road. Or either for snow. It’s only good for TLC drivers

Heck yeah your accord will make it, it just won’t have a radiator left after toy missile up the hill. This grand highlander will certainly be better in snow than it was on this hill. Off road is certainly not on its to do list, but it got it done.

I don't think you even saw the video lmaoo. The grand highlander was put to a pretty good test considering it is a hauler and it did very well for its class. About your 1994 AcCoRd, with no money and no choice but to stay with your old junk: anyone like yourself will talk big about oh yeah my car can for sure "claim this hill". So, stay hating and hope you can afford a car like this that will outlive and easily run thru you AcCoRd.

Markup is from dealerships sir. You need to call other toyota dealerships around you from 25-500 miles out or more. A dealership is out there that won’t charge mark ups. Fly in or take a road trip to pick up your vehicle

@@johnnyc0811 exactly what I did on my wife’s 2024 Lexus NX350H. Dealers here in the SF Bay Area all wants $3-5K markup or if MSRP $2k of whatever paint protection package. I won’t allow myself pay a dime over MSRP nor any forced add ons. Long story short, we flew out to S. Cal bought one at MSRP, no add ons, no trade in, no finance game since I paid cash. Use the would be Markup or Add ons money on a family long weekend trip and drove back 400 miles.

Put on better tires. Made it up hill with factory tires. Thats still pretty good.

I don’t understand Toyotas goal with this and the TX. Both are weak, bland, and practically filler vehicles for a portfolio. They could have spent the R&D on better things like improving other models

Fair take, Toyotas target for this was the highlander buyer that wants space. And this hits that well. This wedges in above the highlander and below the sequoia.

We’ve had Siennas, kids are grown up so this makes more sense and we don’t have to purchase it with a hybrid. That’s a few reasons.

@@patrickbecker2788 great points. Not everyone wants or can afford a $140K Mercedes GLS 63 AMG. This is a people hauler, nothing more nothing less.

Being that you get great fuel economy (27-36mpg), more cargo space than a sequoia, affordable price, 7-8 seater, I think Toyota hit this one and the tx out of the park. But the tx with the phev/hybrid only seats 6?

@@patrickbecker2788 id rather ride in the Sienna. I’d chose that over the highlander portfolio, venza, Camry/Corolla, rav4. The Sienna isn’t faking it’s identity like this car is
