Aurora is her not the band, and it's her real name, full name Aurora Aksnes. She was 22 in this performance in Nov 2018, and she will turn 28 in 1-2 days on June 15th, 2024. She just released her 4th album "What Happened To The Heart" 6 days ago on June 7th, and it's currently #10 new album world wide, #8 in the US and #5 in the UK. She is writing all of her music and lyrics, though she is co-writing some songs with different people. She is the high voice in Frozen 2 calling to Elsa, and her music is in many other movies, series and games.

The person that stated this is Aurora at her peak is out of their mind. Not even close. She just dropped a new Album and it's fantastic. Every album she has is fantastic. She is a very unique and talented Norwegian singer/song writer with tons of great songs. Hopefully you will check out more from her. You'd be missing out if you didn't. I would suggest either "Starvation" music video from the new Album or "Heathens" live VEVO from the last Album. Just remember with Aurora, if you don't like one song, try another, because she has many different songs/styles of music. And yes, Aurora always feels her music. She's fun to watch, and such an interesting and quirky young woman.

I`ve bought Auroras latest album (vinyl) but have to agree that the period 2016-2020...was her peak . Now it`s all about feelings galore and saving lost souls & planets. She`s becoming to repetative...and in my book that`s ...meh ! Cheers from Norway

Aurora was "forced" to give out a song she was not happy with, Conqueror. Before the next album she told her sisters; If I cant be me, what is the point? So she told her management that if she was forced again she would quit!

You have found gold. Aurora is a natural multitalented human being with passion and love for the world. She is the most authentic human being in the muaic industry and is never ashamed to be herself as you clearly can see in this performance. Aurora is a self-taught singer (never had singing lessons) she started playing piano at six years old with only hearing the notes and which ones fits eachother the best. She wrote lyrics when she was nine and wrote her most listen song on spotify "runaway" when she was 12 years old. She is writing all her lyrics sometimes with others but not much. She always put all she have in her albums, she write and paint alot to get inspiration from her own mind. She makes a book for each album because she has so much important things she wants to say that she wants to do it the right way. She always produce the songs, with others ofc because she has a clear vision and can feel what the songs needs. Aurora never write about herself only about the real big problems in the world she even make songs and realise it years later when she feels the world need the song the most. She always have something important to tell. She have written about the right to love, the environment problem(which is her biggest passion and inspiration mother earth), mental health for men, how we treat people and about war ect But she dosnt say it in the song but indirect and if you see her interviews she talks about what they mean. She has a incredible mind and her album she just realised "what happend to the heart" she said this: "Through it s precise function and anatomy were not clearly understood, the heart was believed to be the center of the soul. Of intuition. Of emotion and intention. Until we decided these were qualifications of the mind. Emotion overpowered by logic. And with the world being so corrupted by money, power and selfishness you cannot help but ask what happend to the heart?" Aurora is the kind of artist that always is herself, never ashamed, she loves us all, she stands up for people and fight for the world. She brings up the important things in the world, not the crap about boyfriends and shit like that. She creats art and her vocals never ever fail and if it does a little bit she always laugh it out and dosnt get ashamed. I really hope you check aurora more out she saves our souls and makes us better people.

People often classify Aurora as pop music, and the music she makes couldn't be further from pop music. She's an experimental/folk/electronic artist. Aurora's music might use some pop elements at times, but she writes, composes, and co-produces all of her own music. You aren't going to look at the credits on an Aurora album and see more than 2 writers, and 3 producers on any one song. That, by default, excludes her from the genre of pop music. Fun Fact: Bjork was in attendance at this concert. Bjork and Aurora are fans of each other.

Aurora is the most authentic person i have ever encountered, she marches to the beat of her own drum and has no fs to give. Aurora doesnt sing the song so much as she lives it as she sings it. Her motions and gestures are unbidden and unconscious and not planned at all. She is emoting the song.

KEXP is a radio station out of Seattle that has a reputation for supporting artists. Their KZfaq channel is an absolute rabbit hole of amazing bands from all over the world. Don't let the music fool you - "Churchyard" is a terrifying account of domestic violence. "Churchyard" is the area around a church, and in years past (especially in Europe, but also in the US until around 1940 or so) the churchyard was the local graveyard. "Words pointy like arrows, wounds no one can see" = Verbal abuse "He closed all the windows as his anger broke free" = Abusive rage that happens in private, behind closed doors "I will not remember you as somebody nice" is pretty obvious. This is not a nice person. "Please won't you remember me and cry" = "Remember what happened to me - what he DID to me - and cry" "He told me I belong in a churchyard" = "You belong dead" "He told me I could walk away, but I wouldn't get far" = "Walk away from me & I'll kill you" "Tell me how do people know what is hurt, what is love" = Abusers mess with your head so you think the abuse is love

Huh, I could have sworn you'd already done an Aurora reaction at some point, but yeah, this is your first! Cool - you're gonna enjoy her. ♥ So many amazing tracks - and she's "like" Ren in that she does official music videos (cool ones!) but then also other versions of the songs/live versions of songs are often mindblowing. My fave of hers for the last while has been her collab with the French singer-songwriter Pomme, "Everything Matters" - the live version is the way to go on that one. (US youtubers sometimes stumble on Pomme's name - it's not "pommay" as though it was Spanish, it's "pum," kinda rhymes with "mum" if you're not putting on a French accent to say it.)

Aurora is just... Aurora. She doesnt really fit into any genre or box. A lot of dreamy vocals and sad lyrics/subject matters but shes not afraid to mix those with uptempo beats from all genres and make them absolute bangers. Consistent, though, is her passion, emotional connection, and authentic self. A true artist in her own right. This entire set is one of my favorites- cant go wrong! The Nidarosdomen concert is wonderful with a live Orchestra. Any of the live Vevo performances. And her new album... oh man! It's a journey of life love, grief, growth, anger, rage, and sadness. Starvation and The Blade are my current favorites but i love the whole thing!

Great reaction, had to subscribe for this👍 Aurora is my favourite artist, she’s absolutely amazing in every single way😍 “‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’ - which is about someone that is stronger… a grown up with a child, a teacher with a student - someone that takes advantage of their power and uses it in the wrong way. It’s inspired by domestic violence.” AURORA “In my more delusional stories like ‘It Happened Quiet’ and ‘Churchyard’, the victim comes back to haunt the one that hurt them.” AURORA Churchyard is the same as graveyard/cemetery. Hope to see more of her on your channel👍🥰

Love her old and new stuff, she has always been surrounded by excellent band mates, changing over the years, they moved on to pursue their own solo careers or just didn't want to tour anymore. I don't know if you want to dive into the beginning or would like to check out where she is now. I would like to have you react to all her music, but, for your very next one, I would love for you to check out her very recent live Vevo performance of Some Type of Skin from her recent album. As a longtime fan of your channel, it's awesome seeing you get to Aurora! I feel like you nailed her essence, for the most part. She is very much a free spirit, kind of a modern-day hippie (minus the drugs). Cares very much about the earth, animals and other people, but not concerned about what others think about her. So, she's very free to be completely and unapologetically herself. The only thing I think you got wrong is when you said that you probably don't want to get on her bad side. Although she can definitely stand up for herself, I'm not sure she really has a bad side. She's certainly not someone who would be vindictive or hold a grudge. "Churchyard" at its core is about domestic violence, but that's not to say other interpretations are invalid. For other iconic Aurora performances, "All Is Soft Inside" from the same show or "Murder Song" from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert would be great choices. Or you could jump to her latest music video, "Starvation," which just dropped recently. It is absolutely incredible!

Very, very nice 1st reaction to Aurora. You're possibly the first reactor I have seen so far that has latched on to her THIS quickly. I'm very impressed by how you described her, because you were absolutely spot on. Aurora is my 2nd favorite artist after Angelina Jordan, and I have been following both of them for 10 years now. IMO they are absolutely unmatched in their own way. VERY different artists though. Normally I'd suggest you react to her live performances like this one, but there are a few exceptions. I have been watching all of your reactions to Angelina and I feel that I know you a little by now. And so I was thinking of suggesting one of her music videos that I think you'll appreciate. Aurora is anazind and a, True Artist. Tea, she feels her music. She also write her songs (also compose song and produce/co produce). As a little girl in Norway Aurora spent a lot of time in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been “special.” She was terrified of performing at first but wanted to share her music and thoughts. Pick any one of the recommendations in the comments. One of her most upbeat songs is Cure For Me. But as always with her with a deeper meaning. It’s a protest against conversion therapy practiced in some countries to “cure” homosexuality. She’s bisexual and regardless of what anyone thinks of that they should respect her courage. I’m hetero and I do. Floor with Nightwish is a Valkyrie. Tatiana with Jinjer is a berserker. Maria with Heilung is a sorceress/priestess. Aurora is a serious/fun lovable quirky forest fairy angel. Good on ya guy! You appreciated her and didn’t interrupt.😊

My favorite active Artist. I believe one of the best of her generation. 54, white straight American male...... Grew up and listen to 80s metal ( Sabbath. Priest, Maiden)... lot of 60s rock....have a Beatles tattoo on left bicep. Judas Priest on right...... This woman reminds me sonically to.......no other Artist. She is as elastic and unpredictable as David Bowie or Queen ....She is able, and constantly does, changes how she will do her songs as Neil Young did. She has so many styles....yet it her.. Her live performances are generally better then studio....yet it depends on how she does it live. Trust me....listen to her new song...The Blade...then listen to It happened quiet from The Current. Or even listen to the 3 songs she does for that gig. ...this is number 2.......to show how her performance can be unique. Anyway....the Blade is knocking at the door of a 80s Metal song.

Churchyard in Europe and Scandinavia means graveyard. Kinda changes the song right?

Welcome to the Queendom. It’s domestic violence. Suggest you listen to the companion song ‘it happened quiet’ live at the current.

I always thought it had to do with a religious zealot harming someone which resulted in the decision to walk away from their church.

Please listen to the studio version as well. The studio version is soooooo good. Aurora is great live, but I don't like this live version of Churchyard. The heavy beat of the studio version elevates the song.

This is great track and performance...unfortunately it's also her at her peak. The band, which is almost entirely responsible for how great this performance is, have all left her. But she has a fanatical following who will likely give you lots of requests.

@@zack_reacts Not sure what this person is talking about. She literally just dropped a new album last week and has a huge catalog of incredible stuff between then and now.

Not all of them. I think the guitarist still is with her. Magnus is still with her and produces some songs with her still, but not playin in her band on stage, tho.

@@zack_reacts She makes some great music! The comment above is by someone who obviously wants to denegrate her (for whatever reason). She has a spectacular new album, over 5 million followers -- an unsurpassed vocal talent and songwriter.
