In this unedited video, Roger from the Zenith Aircraft factory performs a first-flight in a customer-built Zenith CH 650.
This Zenith CH 650 was assembled by Jerry Ebke, and is powered by a UL350i engine.

Very nice video and talk-through of a first flight! Does a factory rep test flight come standard with Zenith kits? Or, does Roger offer first flight as an optional service or what? Thanks.

+resiggy13 Many builders perform their own first flights. Roger, as well as many other trained and qualified pilots, are available and recommended to perform first flights in completed aircraft.

+David Warner as an EAB or uncertified engine, phase one testing on the air worthiness certificate is 40 hours. no passengers. no flights over populate areas.

Is it generally discouraged to attempt a couple of stalls on the first flight, to determine the stall speed?

I’m seriously looking at buying a 601-XL-b, but I’m reluctant to pull the trigger because of the Subaru engine. Otherwise it would be the perfect airplane for me.

I'm not a pilot wonder why one would not use a written check list to go down I get it's not a 737 but even a fuel selector left in the wrong position can cause a problem.
