In this video I take my just acquired Minelab Equinox 600 for a spin around one of my favorite permissions. I was curious if it would sniff out something my other detectors missed....Thanks for joining me!

1943 wheat penny would be a classic find - they were zinc. The tube might have been a dose of medicine for cattle. The British call them " moo- tubes". Sensitive detector.

Liked and subbed. I love my Nox 600. Selling my other single frequency machines and purchasing another Nox 600. Yeah, you can’t ignore them low 5-6 VDI/tones. I did a ring recovery earlier this year and it was a women’s white gold ring with diamonds. She had another ring similar to it that rang up a 5. Found the one she lost in her yard that rang up a 6. The recovered ring was just slightly larger. Anyway, looking forward to watching more of your videos. Happy hunts. _/

Thanks a lot for watching and subscribing! I sold all my other detectors to get the 600. I try and dig as much as I can until I start getting tired or keep finding garbage. So far I've been using park 1 the most.

I would recommend leaving the 50 tone as it will allow you to descriminate trash by hearing the tone change on the edges.

600 was my second detector purchased. I am surprised at how small of targets it can find and how deep. I got mine specifically to be stable for beach and surf when I made it to the shore. But I’d get a garret for freshwater hunts.

So far I am liking it. I literally just got it delivered the day before and turned it on for the first time at that location. I'd be weary of going underwater with it, I've heard a lot have failed...

I can’t figure out how to take out the trashy signals. I mean don’t get me wrong I love finding relics but I would like to find more then that. It is great to find iron
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
You can notch stuff out so that it doesn't make a sound below a certain number. I think that has a 0-100 scale, generally the higher the VDI the likelihood it is a coin. Gold is a bit different though. That can be lower.

Crap, everybody and their dog has went to the equinox. Just about the time I finally break down and get one the all new, do all, find all detector will come out. I like my Simplex, the only thing that bothers me about it is the lack ability to change or tweak it much outside of the factory presets. I've been detecting for over 30 years, and I know the Simplex is entry level.
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
I actually almost didn't get an Equinox because everyone has one. I was considering an XP ORX or a Garrett AT Gold, but I kept being told how good they are so I had to try one. It has more settings to mess with but I like it simple and will only mess with them minimally. A lot of people love their Simplex and it will definitely find stuff...

You've hunted the same place with the simplex? Were you definitely pulling more coins with the nox 600 or about the same? I might go back and watch your video with the simplex
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. The Simplex found coins and relics there too, so I can't say the nox is finding more yet. I Like I say in the vid, it's not all about the machine, some days you walk different and hit stuff that you missed on other days. I do have the opinion that the Vanquish and Nox are hitting deeper targets there than the Simplex, but I didn't have the Simplex update, so maybe that would have made a difference.
@HighDollarHobo3 жыл бұрын
@@TRICKYTARGETS since you have all three machines it would make a nice video if you took them all out and went over the same signal with all three to see if they would all find it. I know that sounds like a lot of work LOL but I've seen other Hunters do it and would make for some really entertaining content. I have the simplex, either way I can't complain 250 bucks and it's waterproof I like it a lot so far just curious if I made the right choice haha I'll be sure to subscribe now thanks for the reply Happy Hunting :-)

Unfortunately I sold all my machines to buy the Nox. You're right that would make a great video. For the price the Simplex is surprisingly capable, if you want a nox there are good deals going through a dealer. I saved a good bit on a new one...

The nox sniffing out those small round objects! What did you think, how was running the nox?
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
Today was my third day out with it. Trying different modes, but not getting too crazy with changing settings. At the orphanage it was hitting on rusted iron pretty hard in park 2 and field 2, kicked the horseshoe on and sometimes it didn't signal iron, but that's the way it goes. Any detector could do the same. It is super sensitive, it sure can pick out the fragments at depth. I switched to a different area of the orphanage and tried park 1 and had some nice finds. Will take time to get used to it, but I like it a lot.
@jonpie19873 жыл бұрын
@@TRICKYTARGETS minelab recommends learning that machine in park1, then trying other settings. Big iron fools all machines sometimes, there's no getting around that lol. I found it to be a really smooth transition after running the Vanquish for a bit.
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
You're very right, big iron can do that to any detector. I'm not super concerned. I actually remembered about starting in park 1 so I ended the day in that in a different part of the orphanage and found a 1854 Napoleon III Centime and an organ reed. I think you're right, It is a smooth transition from the Vanquish once you figure out the controls and various things like that. I've done some reading about it and everyone says the stock modes are really good as they are so I won't be messing with them too much I just need to learn what might be best for what conditions I'm in....
@jonpie19873 жыл бұрын
The stock settings are really good. I recommend trying out 50 tone in park1, once you're comfortable. It helps so much in seperating out bottle caps and pulltabs. The different alloys make it come in all wonkey. Rings and coins come in so smooth, they stick out like a sore thumb.
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
That is good advice, I will give it a try. Do you have a favorite mode?
@carlataylor33753 жыл бұрын
is it as jumpy as the simplex
@TRICKYTARGETS3 жыл бұрын
My first impression is no, but I’ll need to use it more to really tell. When it hit something in this video it locked on and didn’t waver much....the simplex was all over the place unless I was right on a coin...
