#richdrew #therideseries #signalpeak Color me impressed. I spent one day on this bike in October during Outerbike and I've been pining away for it ever since.

Love to hear it, Rich! I know you LOOOVE the Spur and I'm stoked to hear that you feel the same about the new Signal.

Did Fezarri give you this bike for this video? Holy moly, I thought you were going to make love to it on the dirt. Modern seat angle but OG head angle. I like it.

This was an early version of what the production bike is. They brought it to Outerbike Bentonville where I was able to ride it for a day to 1) shoot content for the launch video and 2) shoot a "First Impression." I was tasked to "showcase it's capability." I set out to do exactly that. I was SHOCKED at how light this bike was, even after I took the wheelset off my Delano and installed it(I did this because the bike had the XC race version wheelset.) I also wasn't sure how well the Fox 34 Step Cast would hold up to my abuse. I was THOROUGHLY impressed with this bike! I absolutely murdered it on a pretty chunky trail and it was laughing at me. I did EVERYTHING I could to try to hold onto this bike, but to no avail. I'm in the queue, like MANY others, for one. The geo numbers sang to me man! I'm 43, been riding mountain bikes since '89, I love this bike!!

Interested to see how it would compare to the Rocky Mountain Element - similar type of bike.
@CarlHerbst2 жыл бұрын
I was worried about the regular 34 on the front of my new Rocky Mountain Element for the same reason -- the last one I was on was super noodley. Happy to report the new '21+ version feels way better, certainly not the same fork as before. e: 185-190lb 6'3" rider that's used to an EXT Era equipped Druid

Rich I have the Fezzari WASATsaCH PEAK but now I'm looking for a full suspension. Fezzari impressed me with the design and how much of a beating the WP can take. Plus the sales/customer service is fantastic. I'm watching your video's and I was leaning towards the Delano, but now this one has caught my eye. I want to hit some pretty nasty and rocky trails so the shorter suspension worries me. I'm a "heafty" dude and I do bottom my 120 fork out on my hardtail if I hit rocks and steeps. Is the Delano just as snappy as the new Signal or is it more lazy and worse on climbs? I really trust your opinion and would value your input . Which would you recommend for rough and steep but yet still smooth on greens and easy blues when I ride with my wife and friends? I'm not a hardcore rider, I just like to hit rougher stuff to test myself and have fun. I will eventually get better and I dont plan on buying a bunch of bikes. Way to expensive for my blood. So the one I buy is the one I keep. It's a lot of money to drop on a bike and my wife would be beyond pissed if I got one and had to do a bunch of changes to it so I could ride it at WindRock. I'm 5'1 and 200lbs. Yep, short and fat but I can fly when I want to.

Love my Delano Peak Elite with AM30s but often feel it is over kill. Wondered if the Signal Peak could be my old guy quiver killer here is SoCal and since I just trail ride. Look fwd to your full review.
@richdrewtherideseries2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I think the Signal would be great there in SoCal. I'm planning to run a 130 Pike on mine and a beefier wheel/tire set. It looks like it'll ship at some point soon, stay tuned.

Rich, thanks for the review...definitely appreciate your insight and opinion! With that said, when you mention your first impression of the bike pertaining to the weight....did the bike strike you as heavier or lighter then similar bikes like the spur and epic Evo? Thanks in advance!
@richdrewtherideseries2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! The bike struck me as uncomfortably light. I know that may sound odd, but it was a bit unnerving at first. I took the wheelset off my Delano and the bike felt much better FOR ME. I'm not striving for my bikes to be as light as possible, I've never cared much in that respect. I was pretty straight up in this video when I said that it's in line with the Spur in regards to how much I like it. I'm ok saying my initial impression of this bike is better than the Epic EVO. Keep in mind though, I'm not saying I don't like that bike or that it's not a good bike. There are just a few things about this bike that really resonate with me. Ours should be arriving within the next couple of weeks, stay tuned for some more content with it.

I put a frame on order in December and I've been waiting to see what the new one looked like. No mention of the flex stays?
@richdrewtherideseries2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Stoked to hear you're getting a frame! I think one of the main reasons I liked this bike is the lack of flex stays. The four bar rear end was something I was surprised to see, but it worked well and the "extra weight" was negligible as far as I'm concerned.

@@richdrewtherideseries have you ridden the new Trek Top Fuel? If so, how would you compare the two
@richdrewtherideseries2 жыл бұрын
@@oklahotb3217 A tiny bit and I think are very comparable. I'd love to have some time on a Top Fuel in this same zone, that would really give me a good cross section of how they compare. Again, my feeling is that we are just dealing with varying levels of really good when we look at this Signal Peak, the Epic EVO, the Spur, the Top Fuel, the Izzo, the list just goes on and on.

@@richdrewtherideseriesThanks for the input. Seems hard to go wrong when picking a bike so that makes it harder to choose lol

Looking at this bike and several other short travel bikes with capable, balanced geo. A lot of the new bikes have geo like 64 to 65 degree head angles and steep seat angles to match. I'm not sure why geo is going so extreme. 66 to 67ish and 75 to 76 seems more balanced. I'm a trail rider. Why do all these companies think I need a bike with an ultra slack head angle to ride trails effectively?
@superawesomefuntimego2 жыл бұрын
Looks like another great offering from Fezzari. Looking forward to additional impressions if you get one Drew. I will say that 120-130mm rear travel trail bikes really seem to be the way to go for most trails. My 130mm 2021 Stumpy Comp Carbon is just a flat out riot and super fast on everything but the most aggressive trails. It came with Fox Rhythm/Performance suspenders, which were pretty solid, but I had a hard time getting them feeling good with my 200lb weight, bottoming even with max tokens or jacking up the pressure to compensate and losing sensitivity. I swapped them out for 2021 Fox 34 Perfomance Elite fork/shock and the bike feels much, much better.
