I grew up in the city back in the 60s and I had to endure the Pol Pot madness killing machine in the 70s. Most of my family members did not survive. Cambodia has come a long way as the prolonged civil war finally ended in 1998. I've returned to visit my sole surviving sister who currently still lives in Phnom Penh since my retirement from the States. Be mindful and be kind whenever possible. Life is short to do the things we don't love doing. Sharing is caring. Enjoy your trip there. Peace out from a genocide survivor!

So sorry to hear mate! To be honest I couldn’t vlog for the first week, I was too deeply affected by the things I saw and researched there. I am glad you made it through and I am sorry for what you had to endure. I made sure I was super kind to the people there and have them a bit extra when I could due to the hardship … Yes it’s come along way

What do you mean man? They look pretty smooth to me. I took it off the very stable setting because I wanted to more realistic. Watch one of Simon Wilson’s videos or Yes Theory and then tell me my videos not smooth 😂

Was in PHNOM PENH a few days after Songkran and let's just say I missed Thailand so much that I left after only 3 days in Cambodia (and that's someone who grew up in this country for my first 5 years) Cambodia just needs to develop a lot, mostly friendly people though apart from your scammers which I had a heated argument with a tuk tuk driver who tried to charge me $15 US for less than a 3km ride (safe to say I only used ride share apps after that) Anyways hope you're enjoying your travels Marco!

Why do people view scam as the most serious challenge, you can escape scamming if you use 20% of your intelligence. I wish to move to Cambodia from Thailand, scammers are common even in Thailand but troubles like mass shootings, violence on tourists, rape, and gun conflicts never take place in Cambodia. You have never seen Cambodia. You just have some bitter feelings towards Cambodia.

Haha first time I went to Thailand with my mates, in our early 20’s, when we stayed in Bangkok our Hotel was just along the street from Nana Plaza 🫣 People won’t believe me but we had no idea what Nana Plaza or that it even existed, we were young, inexperienced travels and naive…we went out the first night for food and when we walked past it we were like…Holy fuck…what is this place 😂 eye opening.

Exchange the USD to Riel at a money exchanger your going to get ripoff with dirty bills. Your best to get Khmer Riel out of the ATM instead of USD or less you like the risk of being screwed out of $100.00.

They only accept new crisp US money in Asia. Don’t crinkle your American dollars and make sure all your cash is new. Just let your bank know your of your travel plans and they’ll take care of you if you’re a valued customer. Always bring MORE cash than you think you’ll need to Asia. Always!

you could go to Panama and its 100% interchangeable USD - they only make coins but all bills are american currency which is nice every time I travel there, being Panamanian American and as a 5 year old kid I was able to run the streets and buy a soda for 25cents and not having to know the difference although much more cost than countries in south east asia
