In this video, we will take you on a scenic drive from Guwahati (Assam) to Cherrapunji (Meghalaya). It has one of the most complex and diverse landscapes we've seen yet in India. From rolling hills to giant cliffs to lush forests with some of the most enchanting waterfalls. The best time to visit is during the months of April and May (post monsoon season).

The state of Meghalaya begins from Khanapara junction at Guwahati...one side is Assam the other is the state of Meghalaya and you entered Meghalaya the moment you cross the bridge at Byrnihat... And not from Umiam lake as you've point in your video.,

12:43 The artificial lake created from building a dam on the river Umïam and the lake is called Umïam lake... Also called Barapani meaning big lake in hindi..

@@jimmyandchelsea That's cool but if you wanna enjoy the crystal clear rivers n falls of Meghalaya I suggest you visit during winter but if you're a nature enthusiastic n wanna enjoy the lush green forest of Meghalaya monsoon season would be great.

Does any permit required for entry in meghalaya with private car ?

You will have to check with your local travel agency. Our driver had all the permits necessary for travel. We didn't need to apply for any special permits to enter Meghalaya.
