This is one of the nice things in thailand, after living 12 years here I can still find myself saying "this is the best dish I have ever tried", because the food is so awesome here and the same dish is so different in each restaurant. ☺️ Have fun Forrest.

Every time I visit Thailand my friends from Ubon do all the bookings for me from Hotels to private drivers .. all I need to do is to pay for those services and chillax 🍻. Thai’s take pride in their product and that restaurant didn’t disappoint.. that Pork Belly looked Delicious.. being there will give you an opportunity to reset and get you ready when you’re ripe & ready to get back to the Big Cities .. cheers dude 🍻

I'm Thai. I'm happy that you found the place that you like. Yes, Udon Thani is just like what you said. I can not agree more. It's a large province but peaceful and quiet. My kind of town. If I remember correctly it ranks one of the top provinces that have highest income of the nation. Business is growing because large companies are relocating or expand there, but it's still able to maintain a laid-back lifestyle. Thousand of American GIs. were stationed there during Vietnam War. And there used to be a big U.S. military air force base, where Bob Hope and many other celebs came to entertain those soldiers.

Thank you very much for introducing travel in my hometown. Which now I miss that place a lot after not going back for 18 years. Lad I'm currently in Boston, USA and have a plan to move back to. at my hometown in Udon Thani before the end of this year And I hope you enjoy traveling in my province, but it's not very touristy, most of the time. Local people like to make merit. And live a slow life. In the evening, exercise. Have a little meal after the night tour. After that, when I go back, I may meet you once more.

Outstanding video. I am getting ready, after my wedding, to move to Sisaket. I live in Pathum Thani now, not too crowded, but just getting around can be a pain. I can't wait to explore the Isaan area.... I am a bicyclist. Where I will live is only 40 km from the Cambodia border. I am looking forward to weekly rides to the border and back. We will be only 100 km from the Laos border. That trip will be done once a month. thanks for your Video, Forrest.... I am looking forward to some more like it.

Hey Forrest, your vlogs have been helpful. Thank you. I plan on taking my family, with three young children to visit Thailand in July. Probably the first two weeks in Bangkok and the rest in Phuket. Since I'll be traveling with my kids, my concern is with the petty theft crimes and tourist scams my friends warned me about. Can you please provide some advice based on what you see in the country and experience?

I have been there many times. Use common sense and you'll be fine. Don't leave your phone out on a table while in a restaurant or don't wear your backpack on your back in a crowded area. Stuff like that.

I've always thought of Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) as the unofficial capital of Isaan as it is the largest city in the region. But others may disagree and that is ok.
@benzvd
@benzvd Жыл бұрын
Actually Khonkaen is more developed than Khorat. And Khorat isn't culturally or historically Isan. They still speak central Thai. Khorat is more like a gateway or hub between Bangkok and Isan, while Phitsanulok is hub between Chiangmai and Isan.

Almost US$30 for lunch? You would expect that in a fancy restaurant in Bangkok or Phuket, but not in rural Thailand. This lunch cost more than the hotel room for a day.

Those sorts of places are always the best places to go in any country, tourist spots are always the same.. full of drunk people from your own country using another country as a sex toilet...yuk. I'm in the UK which is shitty enough, I've been unable to work for 6 months due to an injury, our social system/health service has been no help at all, I'm nearly 50 years old and feel like I'm getting pushed toward the rubbish dump. So it's nice to see that a young healthy man living an ideal life can have problems too....smiley face.
