I had no steady income but i found comfort in believing i should always be ready if my day comes. If i stressed myself thinking,my BP would shoot up so i maintained my calm and composure. They can kill your husband's body, but they can never kill his vision. We want the world to know that this man was not corrupt like many want him to appear. He died because he went against the grain of corruption and the grain crushed him because it was too powerful.

Thank you Mr Calvin Hughes. This interview was heartbroken to watch but yet inspiring. The killing of the president of Haiti has collectively broke the heart of the people in the Haitian community. It is a story of greed, it is a story of betrayal, it is a story that has expose naked a system in Haiti where a small group of people profit on the misery of the majority. They have cause young Haitian to leave the country, risking their lives to find a better life all throughout latin America, Canada, Europe and the united States. Haiti is and has been held in hostage for a long time. Only the Haitian media had been exposing this tragedy. So I thank you for bringing this story to the consciousness of people outside of our community.

Yes, indeed, lakay se lakay (home is home) as I always have said since l left Haïti and have been living in USA for most of my life. I believe our supreme God in heaven has many in His storehouse for our land-Haïti. May the Lord Almighty continue to strengthen you, Martine. May He shower you and and the children, as well as our late president Jovenel’s sister abundantly with His blessings.
