In this video, I show how I installed a custom Mercedes-Benz Lighted LED Colored Trunk Decklid Star Emblem to my W204 C204 C-Class (C250, C300, C350, C63).

What if you want it always on? Not when the brakes are applied.

then wire it up to your brake light that turns on when the car is on. I don't recommended it because "third brake lights" in most stays aren't support to stay on all the time. The lighted star is essentially a third brake light based on it's location.

Thanks again flex you kept me going its been 6 months but system finally done no more fiber optic nothing thanks to you and Raymond you guys rock went with JL w0 12s two of them in ported jl envlosure JL c1 components in door and coax in back i used a lot of xtrons stuff they seem to work great in Mercedes-Benz.

Just push the brake in hard till it says hold. Bake lights will stay on.

Did you run into the same issues with the emblem being flat and the trunk being curved? I’m not sure if they made a curved emblem yet.

@@TheFlexxGarage it wasn't curved but it it seemed to have double sided tape that was pretty padded and looks pretty good. But I did cover the holes with tape like you recommended to prevent water leakage. I think I'm going to run some vinyl around the edges like you did just as a bit of extra protection. I'll post a link in the comments once I post it to my tik tok

Thanks for all the videos Flexx - you helped me get rid of the gym sock smell in my AC, and with my front light up emblem, my front lip and side skirts. I'm installing a light up rear emblem and I want to tap it into the taillight, so that it lights up when the taillights kick on at night, instead of with the brake lights. I cant find online which wire to tap for this - would you happen to know? Appreciate any insight!

Thank you for your video Flexx, I have a GLK350 and the tail light is also used as brake light on both sides. While I put on the brakes, the tail light is brighter... I installed the emblem but it lights all the time instead of putting the brakes on. Do you know if I can correct it? Unless I connect the wire to the centre brake LED light. Your comments are appreciated.

I would only do a mod like that if it looked stock in the day. To me it looks different. Too fat. The emblem doesn’t look sleek when the light is off.

Looks great - did you just “eye” it? It looks perfectly centered. I think I’ll mess it up , get it on off center and be stuck cos it’s glue! My E550 comes to a point in front and tail which makes the front plate either have a huge gap or bend; the tail star gap is so bad it just snapped when I put my car cover on. This looks like a good solution. Thank you.

Bob McMahon Hi Bob, I picked one up off eBay when I changed my w204 grill over to the diamond grill. I had to slightly modify it and use hot glue but it looks cool. Good luck.

Hey flex i installed in my 04e320 works perfect when i hit brake. It is a little cheaply made so i was going to rap edgeds in vinal and when that done. I was going to over lay hole emblem with vinal tint to protect it because silver on star will start to chip off. What do you think?

Yeah, I really wish it wasn’t flat and instead curved with the body of the trunk so it’s flush. Def protect it if you want it to last. I honestly don’t remember how long I had it on my car.

Yeh. I just tapped into my brake light wire. The star doesn’t use a lot of power so it doesn’t really screw anything up.

hey flexx I tried to do this but the LED didn't light up. Can you tell me any troubleshooting steps? I manually spliced it but will try using a t-tap tmrw..what is the battery pack you used?

It doesn’t take a lot to power up so either wires are crossed, wires to star isn’t providing power, or the star is dead. I would use a 9V battery to test the star. Run the positive and negative wires to the 9V battery terminals and if the star works, it should light up. You can buy a 9volt battery at any store. (The square looking battery).

Hmmm…I’m really not sure. It worked on my car using the step by step I did in my video. No errors, no issues. Double check you are tapping the right wire. Maybe your cars wiring is different?

Doesn’t concern me. My car is spotted everywhere especially with my KZfaq name on the rear passenger window. My plates been seen a billion times. Covering it in a video isn’t going to help. If someone wants to be a “weirdo” towards me, they’ll find a way. Covering a plate isn’t a deterrent.

Yup. In my new videos with the W205 and Audi, I only started covering the plates because it looks so much better and less distracting on video and in pics...not to hide it from weirdos. But everywhere I go, people still see the plates anyway and I don't really care.
