Seen a lot of youtube "tactical" channels and I must say this is one of the very few where I'm like, "OK, I need to do everything this guy is saying" .. I copied this belt setup and it is EXCELLENT. I went with the UBL loop, QLS, and a Safariland holster w/ ALS without the hood... Just about a perfect setup. Thanks for the help man. Awesome vids. Keep it up.

A good rule of thumb I was taught by Zach Harrison of Northern Red, was the let your shooting arm hang naturally and swing your hand back and forth slightly and your finger tips should be able to go under your holster. If the holster in below that you need to bring it up. I use a mid ride holster as well.

This was immensely helpful as I continue to design my rig and belt setup! For my rifle setup I carry and train with a dump pouch because I retain spent mags. (I re-index partially spent mags) it’s my training preference. It adds bulk that I’m comfortable with.

Great advice! I'm a basement operator and your guidance saves me lots of time since I rarely get to go out and run around with my gear. The battle belt systems work well for me since I don't use plate carriers. I keep it simple and light by carrying ammo and ifak only. Cheers!

I really like the idea of keeping chem lights on the belt line. I use green, yellow, and red chem lights and have been thinking about ways to keep a couple more handy for our group's SOPs (red for wounded, green signals a clear room or obstacle, yellow signals a danger zone, like say a car bomb that had been defused but not destroyed, for example (bad example, but you get the point)). I tie them off with a small loop of 550 cord which is super handy to then tie it off to the signalled item. Just wanted to share, help the knowledge boat flow, and all.

Great advice and I love the thought put into your setup, it's giving me great ideas for my own equipment. I built my warbelt based on my experience in Afghanistan. In my case, my job was to be the command photographer. So I'd be taking my armor on and off constantly, with all my primary magazines on my vest, I had 1 in my rifle and two secondary magazines on my belt. All the PSOs I was working with had warbelts so they'd have their gear when they were walking around and I really liked that. I also liked the security of having a full vest and because I was mostly being flown everywhere weight wasn't much of an issue. More and more I'm seeing infantry and special forces go to plate carriers and I'm debating getting one or going all out on an IOTV. (for personal fun and practice since my unit won't get issued anything unless we deploy again.) I like that you mentioned the leg strap on pistol holsters. I was issued a serpa holster that went half way down my knee, had to take off one strap and lift it up to a reasonable position on my leg. Anyway, cheers!

To prevent mobility issues with warbelts, many people use them with much lower size then them really fits. In this case front side did't covered with molle, pad or some gear and can't influent on your leg movement. It's a good feature to use warbelts with minimal size ever exists.

You know, underwear is no joke. I was trained, back in the late mesolithic age, to wear UDT shorts as underwear, under utility/BDU trousers. I still employ a variation on this in my civilian work gear. It provides extra protection to the entire area, ventilates (you're free-balling), and dries acceptably in the event that you get wet. Anyone know of any improvements on this old SOP?

I personally prefer merino wool boxers over anything else, they're expensive and not the most durable but they're very comfortable, moisture wicking, soft, stay in place, very rarely if ever pull a leg hair, they're just awesome, they're lightweight, they're warmer in winter and cooler in summer, you're not constantly pulling out creases from ya know cuz they stay in place and stay dry, yeah they'll get damp but you usually dont notice because the part touching your skin is dry and wool is insulating whether dry or wet, it's the perfect clothing material, I hate cotton, nylon, etc for normal clothing articles.

Great video brother . I have an old LBE vest but I plan on switching my rig . I think a SADF style vest will fit my needs better . for my first line I have my field knife and my EDC .

I dig it coz you're not using them fat type battle belts. I'm cool with the minimalist approach coz I got teh belt setup, then the chest rig, and the backpack. Im not a slouch, but I'm man enough to admit that the whole thing is gonna be heavy. yeah yeah, I'll get back into shape. love ya man

Am using my old (but looks new) SOE EDC Belt w/Cobra Belt Buckle for my Tactical Belt ! The most important item on the Tactical Belt is the 5.11 Dump Pouch so the zombies do not track or follow... Recently added the Plastic Sheath for the Leatherman Raptor. And the SOG Seal Pup carried on the strong side that may need the tie down strap like you powerful noise maker ! Also have a Tourniquet, Leatherman Tool and the Chem Lights... And still must mount the Trauma Kit with the Umbrella Moral Patch. Thank you for the video ! tjl

Condor did and still does make so, so pouches, but,... NOW they make equipment that uses full 500 nylon and well stitched. Yes it cost more. So I guess they made enough money from the paint ball and Sunday dress up groups that they could afford to get into the big boy stuff. Yes I do have a few. I think they gave them a new type condor logo and name as well. Love your to the point, this is it as I see it reviews. Thanks, a new subscriber.

I've found dump pouches extremely useful for carrying random stuff like rolls of tape, stapler, tinder, throw gloves in while pooping, etc.

S and S makes a drop system that is adjustable for where you want it but I believe it is only for safari land Blackhawk and g code. It may be better than having a leg strap.

I wish I'd had all these options when I was in. But that was over 20 years ago, and everything was ALICE-clipped onto the web belt.

Amazing overview as always man! By the way: Battlebelts/Warbelts = Impeding mobility as well as also shaking around when during movement. Seems like it's a trend to purchase them now.. Somewhat beneficial if you're running support or on a multi-day mission.... But still not practical >>>

I use a dump pouch exclusively for my back-up crayon supply. You must a have a field expedient solution for easy to reach nutrition in order to keep those energy levels up, and this works for me.
