Queens of the Stone Age are back! They just announced we will have 'In Times New Roman' (their first album since 2017's Villains) on June 16th and gifted us the first song, Emotion Sickness an hour ago. Have a First Listen with Lauren O'Neil of Q101, Chicago!

@@largo741 I'm assuming. The "Baby don't care for me. I had to let her go." seems pretty on the nose but I could be wrong. There's other lines in the song that make me think of divorce or a bad breakup.

@@volutedmetal8543 I was also thinking the fever broke and his emotional sickness or trauma is over and he parted ways with the person in questrion after the fever broke. Like snapping out of a spell.

In the video, the change where the eye transisitions into the tunnel... WHAT? Are you kidding me? That video deserves a freakin' award for best art direction... BIG time! Absolutely magical, just totolly invests your mind to the rest the video. ALL KINDS of eye candy. Phenomonal song wiith a perfectly directed video... instant classic, and just an experience to listen to.

First thought that came to mind was Stone Temple Pilots. You could slide this song into the "Tiny Music" album and no one would bat an eyelash.

Two random thoughts: I think the verses would TOTALLY suit some screaming back up vox, to add some flavor. I also really wish there were at least some drum rolls/flares - I find the drums boring and mechanical like Villains

Yupp was feeling for that, at LEAST in the last chorus where they fade it out. I know the song is so wild in the verses and bridges, but at least a LITTLE fill goes a long way I remember Josh saying with the press behind I think it was ...Like Clockwork how he always wants to make a chorus sound 40% different or so, weird that they didn't extend that here Maybe the verses sounded so disjoint that they needed to wash us over with the smooth chorus, but I feel like I can be woken up from that dream or at least shook out of it a little Great song tho, grows on you

I love QOTSA but I really didn't like Villains and I love ...Like a Clockwork just like Songs for the Deaf. I hope the same producer from the previous album is not involved.
