Verdy, you are quickly becoming my most favorite reactor on YT. I was a sophomore in High School when this album debuted, and I have enjoyed this music for a lifetime. The whole reason I watch reactors to music is to see the spark of enjoyment that I remember when I first heard this music. Your honest reaction is so satisfying and pure joy to behold. You really have a connection to this music, and I am happy to see young people of your generation appreciate what we now refer to as "Classic Rock". For me and a large number of people it is the soundtrack of our lives. Thank you, keep rocking and uncovering these gems.

I find it amusing when the young people are exposed to stereo. Today's youth get most of their music in digital version through inadequate single speakers. They are missing so much when they listen to classics. Even todays ear pods cannot equal a great 70's era home stereo with great speakers. At least many are exploring the greats.

The bass line from John Paul Jones on “The Lemon Song” is one of the greatest ever. Jimmy Page is (of course) amazing as well.

Finally, a true reaction channel. It's refreshing to see someone reacting to MUSIC. I've been getting tired of reactors trying to break down and analyze lyrics and interpret what the song is about, while ignoring what's going on, musically. I've been a hard-core led zep fan for 50 years and i still don't know half of what RP is talking about. But it doesn't matter because the music is what's important.

Led Zepelin I blew down the door. Led Zeppelin II they walked right in and cemented themselves as THE rock band going into the 70's.

That wacky noise in the middle of Whole Lotta Love is Jimmy Page playing a device called the Theremin. Used alot in science fiction movies. The "old door" sound is pick scratching with echo. Gotta love that subtle "wah" on the solo. Every song on that album is a classic. Jimmy was a true artist on the guitar.

Not only is Jimmy Page an excellent guitar player but he can open and close giant, creaky doors like no one else!

Stereo was still fairly new going into the 70's and so bands like Zepplin were using it for effect at almost every opportunity. Something that has been sadly largely lost over the years.

In 1969 I'm 12 years old. I'm in my cousin's basement in Longueuil, Quebec, with about 10 teenage kids. This is blasting on the stereo and I had never heard anything like this in my life! It was subversive, exhilarating and scary, all at the same time. I'm still hooked on this album all these years later, and it's so cool to see you have the same reactions I did! I'm subbed!

It flows from one song to the next, better than any other I’ve heard. Every track perfectly placed. Every song Fantastic on its own, but best heard by hearing the full album. This album is an absolute masterpiece.

That’s a backwards slide Page recorded. He wanted it for the effect. He also had Plants vocals recorded so it repeats in the background as he sings. It’s another effect he wanted on the song and then there’s the spinning buildup until it hits the drum break! Bang Bang! Then the Molten Guitar Solo starts! Bang Bang! And the solo just explodes! I was amazed the first time I heard that solo! Your reactions are great! You get it! 👏🏻🎸😎

Great reaction. The early LZ are almost like they improvising or playing live and shooting it in one shot. They might have played this live in the studio and just shot it into the master tape. Great album

Being a bass player Jones is my favorite part of the band, but the interplay between him and Bonham is absolutely amazing you have to listen to the tandem as 1, great reaction as usual. On a side not this was my very first Zeppelin album, not sure why I picked this one but to this day it is my favorite album.

Wow took me back someway, I was 15 when a girl from my class knocked on door said, Den you HAVE to hear this, she said.. crank the volume to max, which I did and the first chords of whole Lotta love hit me full in face..like you I nearly had a fit, jaw nearly hit the floor. The tandem Bonham (drum) and John Paul Jones (bass) in the middle of 'Lemon Song' is pure musical bliss that if it were hours just of more of this, I would be totally fine listening. I can't think of one Hard Rock musician who was not influenced by this album.

I have a particularly fond memory of the release of this album... my friend George and I got a hold of some "double barrel sunshine", went out speeding around Reynold's Channel (L.I.) in his little boat, while listening to this for the very first time. What a musical trip!

As a young boy this was my first zeppelin album I heard. I was shocked. The radio back then didn't play anything like this. You have a way of making me listen to songs a little more deeply. Best reaction channel. ❤✌️✌️

Stereo was a pretty new thing at this time and a lot of bands exploited this to the full, which is why there is so much right to left/left to right stuff going on - everything now seems to be layered rather than split which might be why it sounds so fresh to you. love your reaction to this stuff - your pure enjoyment is so apparent it takes me back 50 years.😁

"Whole Lotta Love" was the first LZ song I remember hearing on the radio WABX Detroit (I was 9) but I didn't get this album for another few years. I have been a Ledhead since then. It looks like I will be following your reactions for a while. Great job.

Its great to watch someone enjoying Led Zep for the first time. I wasn't big into them when they first appeared in 1969 but loved the songs that got radio play. Finally in my teen years a bit later I began to appreciate more songs and all of their talents. By my late teens and to this day, I consider them the best rock group ever.

Jimmy Page was the most sought after studio guitarist in London since he was 16. He was a master at stereo mixing his entire musical career.

Zep really made use of the new-fangled stereo effect on 'Whole Lotta Love', panning the sounds left and right continually to produce something very new and exciting. One of the most famous Rock songs ever...although just about every track on this perfect album is a classic. Another great reaction and, as always, great appreciation of all the musicians and the music they created.

Damn, I forgot how good Side 1 was. Can't wait to see you react to the first two songs of Side 2 in particular. Love your analysis, keep up the good work. One side note, when I hear the bass and keyboards, I think what an unsung hero and secret weapon John Paul Jones is. Never gets as much credit as the other 3, but so instrumental to the greatness of the final product.

My two favorite songs from 1969 were "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin, and "Gimme Shelter", by the Rolling Stones.

I'm curious. How does listening to an album like Led Zeppelin II affect the way you perceive your own music (the music you normally listen to)?

This riff is commonly know as the greatest riff in rock.

Back in 1969 I was 16 and into music. But look what was available to listen to in 69. Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 1969 like Tom Jones, Sly and the Family Stone, Elvis, Johnny Cash and then Led Zepplin hit the scene. I had heard of Jimmy Page from The Yard Birds. They really blew up what kids were listening to and parents hated it.

Jimmy Page is also playing a Theremin on Whole Lotta Love. It’s an instrument like a radio that you don’t touch. That makes no sense but you will understand when you see it being played.

Led Zeppelin is just insanely fantastic! This album is just so freaking great!

I remember the day I brought this album home and listened to it in '69...I was in my last year of jr. high getting ready to start high school, and having already heard Zeppelin's first album, this one just blew me away!🎵🎶☺👍

To see the look of absolute joy on your face ... know that was the look on so many faces of.my generation, Led Zepplin were Gods and we were so willing to follow.

What makes Led Zeppelin so special is that they did it in analog world: no digital music, computers, auto tune, etc... It was once in a generation of a collaboration of highly skilled musicians lead by a wizard in the studio with due props to Eddie Kramer and Peter Grant.

"Whole Lotta Love" was the first Zeppelin song I heard. I was a young teenager riding in the back seat of our '69 Ford Custom 500, and when that song came on the radio, I literally stood up in the car with my mouth hanging open. I couldn't help it.

"The Lemon Song" is actually a cover of a song by Chicago blues great Howlin' Wolf. "Killing Floor" is a 1964 song by American blues singer-songwriter and guitarist Howlin' Wolf. Called "one of the defining classics of Chicago electric blues" "Killing Floor" became a blues standard with recordings by various artists. It has been acknowledged by the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame, which noted its popularity among rock as well as blues musicians. English rock group Led Zeppelin adapted the song for their "The Lemon Song", for which Howlin' Wolf is named as a co-author.

What casual fans do not understand about Zep is the homage to the blues which fills most of their songs.

Maybe you will be surprised by the next album Led Zeppelin III, which features a lot more acoustic guitar. But it also includes one of the best, if not the best ever, blues-rock ballad, called Since I've been loving you. Best greetings from Germany

Jimmy Page was using a violin or cello bow on his guitar to make "that sound" in the break in Whole Lotta Love. I saw them doing it live in 1972. That gig was a life-changing experience for me.

Warning: Zeppelin III is a little sleepy and folksy; a wonderful album, one of my favorites, but VERY different, and not so much ROCK n' ROLL. Come back to it, if you want to continue the ROCK journey. Go on to IV, and to MY PERSONAL FAVORITE, Physical Graffitti, wherein we go back to full blown GENIUS Rock n' Roll. I was 17 when this came out. The airwaves were full of fantastic music. This is a sample of what you could hear. The best way to listen to Zeppelin is, to begin with, album 1 track 1 and work your way to the last track of the last album. You won't find any bad songs.

It amazes me to find someone as young as you that gets and enjoys these songs. I was in High School when this album came out, we got it then, and now you get it. You have loads of rhythm. You facial expressions, head movements and hands are in perfect synch with these songs. You express the rawness and grit of these songs with such beautiful poetic rhythm. You should consider taking a few of these songs that move you the most and dance with your whole body, you are full of rhythm and very few people have it in spades like you do. Michael Jackson and my wife were like this, she like MJ would dance and enthrall you, you could watch them for hours. You have such rhythm.

This was my parents generation, and it was my mom who introduced Led Zeppelin to me with this album when I was in high school in the '90s. I was just like you. That first song, Whole Lotta Love, blew my mind and I've been a fan ever since. I hope you keep going with the rest of their albums. The magic of their greatness just didn't quit.
