Can confirm. I told my kids about it from my time in Navy boot camp when they had one in Orlando, NTS Orlando, FL and they didn't believe me. When we moved here, as we exited the plane, wife had to use the restroom so we waited next to the jetway and... sure enough, it happened and the crews on the tarmac were playing around jumping into and out of the rain as there was a ground stoppage due to lightning. The kids were amazed. They outright said that they thought I was fibbing. Nope. That's real in FL and if you've never seen it, it's mindblowing in real life. Plus, if you've never been in warm rain, that's another one.

I'm 55 years old and only seen the edge of rain once in my time. I was stationed at camp Buttler in Okinawa Japan and it was pouring rain down the centerline of the road. Wet on sidewalk by the chow hall and the otherside completely dry. Mind blowing to see.

I often witness the end of rain in my village, we go into town shopping, it's raining and then on our way home half a mile from the house a line of rain and dry road, for some reason it happens often.

This one time was I driving & stuck in traffic when I noticed. The right side of the road was poring down with rain, but the left side of the road was fully dry & sunny.. It was amazing to be right in the middle & see both sides of this

I lived in Orlando Fl. in the 60's and one day it was dumping rain in the back yard and totally dry in the front yard! As a kid, it was completely amazing! The effect was sort of common with the heavy afternoon thunderstorms that would sweep across the land.

I once walked the edge of a rainstorm. I was 10 years old, living on the big Island of Hawaii. It was a perfect edge that didn't move. I remember stopping in the middle of the edge and looking up.

You can see the rain begin and end in Hawaii. I've driven along a road and into the edge of a rainstorm, then pass out of the storm into the sun and dry road. Sometimes, rain clouds in Hawaii sit in one place and pour rain so you can drive in one side from a sunny, dry road and drive out of the soaking rain onto the other side which is also dry and sunny. Side note: Many times the rain in Hawaii is warm. It also dries quickly, so you can walk into rain, get wet, and out the other side and dry off quickly.

I was at a small beach or pond or something years ago with an summer program and we had to leave because of a lightning warning. When we got on the bus it started raining so we put the windows up and like 5 minutes later it stopped so we put the windows back down. While we were driving back about 2 minutes later it started raining again and as we all were trying to get the windows back up after it stopped the first time the raining ended a minute later. That happened 2 more times. I always thought it was random patches of rain covering parts of the road. There was no lightning at all and we had to leave early 😔 but still a cool experience 😁

I live in a weather belt. Most time when it snows once I go across the train tracks near my house the snow just stops. If you look back you just see a wall of snow across the tracks. It is so cool.

Come to Florida if you want to see the edge of rain. I was driving down US 1 once and it was pouring on the northbound side but the side I was on was totally dry. Wasn't the first time I saw something like that. I stood on my driveway once and could walk in and out of the rain.

#Mind Warehouse. This is a very true occurrence. Not only because it makes sense, but because I lived it. One time, when I was in Middle School, I was riding the School Bus and it happened. I will NEVER Forget because it was so strange. On one half of the School Bus was pouring straight down and on the other side it was bone dry. It was crazy, yet amazing at the same time. I've seen torrential rain do this...I was raining right up to and half way over a bridge over the canal to 30ft from us...it was amazing to see a huge wall of rain and we were standing feet from it dry!

Just outside Gaylord Michigan by a pulp processing plant, with railroad access, & a tiny air strip; was an edge of weather. You could (maybe still can ) sit on the road perfectly dry, also behind you, and watch it poring rain or snowing like crazy.

I've only seen the edge of rain once when I was going home from school. It was down pouring and at the time I lived in Florida on this pretty long road, and as we got close to my stop it stopped raining, but behind us it was still downpouring. I was so happy cause I didnt have to walk home in the rain lol. I also had a truck hit my arm on that road too with their side mirror. They didnt even ask if I was okay lol but oh well they had to replace their mirror too cause it fell to the ground and was shattered. I think all I got was a small bruise from that

The first one about the edge of a storm: I witnessed it twice during my childhood. One time it was raining on the other side of the street from where I Lived but dry on my side. The 2nd was when I was watching my parents at a company softball event where i was on a swingset that was dry for a short while before the storm expanded to include a much larger area. (so this would have been in the late 70's and early 80's).

I've seen the edge of rain in Texas between Bay City and Houston back in the 1970s... twice. Driving down the highway in broad daylight I could see this ominous could and the distinct edge of rain could be seen right on the highway. Drove right into it and it was like a shower was turned on full blast. It lasted all of about 10-15 seconds and then Poof! just like that it turned off as we drove out the other side. It was the weirdest thing, but very cool!

Around 15 years ago I was at my grandparents house north of Sydney Australia during a severe hail storm. Their home is on top of a hill in the bush(forest). From the valley looking up it was like a bull-dozer had pushed a narrow, winding track over the hill.

I forgot where it was, but this one time my family and I were looking at a river that divided two cities (maybe even two states, I don’t remember fully) and then we see the rain rushing in from the other side of the river. We see it start making big ripples in the water and it came at us quickly. I never knew rain clouds moved that fast. I remember all of us at once turn around and book it for the underpass yelling “RUUUNNNN” and we made it just in time before the rain would hit us. And there were these dudes who saw the whole thing who started clapping and said something congratulatory (I forgot exactly what he said) I swear it was like a movie and it was so cool to see

My mom told when she was a kid there were many times during summers when she would race the rain line from the barn to the farm house and sometimes across the open fields behind the house. She said she usually was able to make it to the house before the rain line.

I experienced the edge of the rain many times! Especially on a highway I take to work, one can literally see the edge of the rain and hear when you drive onto the other side of it. Or one part of the highway would be absolutely DRY and when you reach at a certain spot its raining cats and dogs!

In Florida one side of the highway is dry and the other oncoming lanes are soaked in a rain storm lol it’s crazy to see- in Va- I have parked right at the edge of a hailstorm- was so surreal to witness!

I found an interesting one when I was little Basically it was raining hella hard on a highway, and there was a Bridge above the highway. As you drive by the bridge, you could see that the storm actually ended PERFECTLY at the bridge, as if the bridge was a sort of line between a sunny and rainy day. This was pretty crazy to see as a kid, and my parents noticed it pretty quickly too.
