Orca LGS has just added a new prefab home at a more affordable price. Orca is a prefab home company building with light gauge steel located on the west coast. They have a line homes with a west coast contemporary look that have historically been quite popular on the channel. The new home is called the lite pod and it has a foot print of 392 square feet in which they fit 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. Just wanted to say thank you for bringing Orca to our attention with your first video as we've just ordered a LITE POD! For anyone interested, they suggested a washer-dryer combo instead of a stackable unit, which - in our case - will go in the kitchen. The smaller corner closet in the bedroom holds the water tank. Other than that we've opted for a storage loft, which goes over bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Like you I prefer the exterior of the Sandpiper, but the interior of the Litepod seems more functional for full-time living. Now all that's left to do is order our bidet...

Don't worry, Canada is much closer to the North Pole and there's not nearly as much gravity up there. If the terrarium were to fall, it would be moving so slowly he could easily catch it before it hits the ground. Follow the science, man !

The lite pod would be perfect for $50k (US)~400 sq.ft. (Studio?) - wouldn’t need to come with any standard furniture (no bed/dining table/sofa), or utilities installed: no refrigerator, washer/dryer, maybe not even a stove, as all those can be affordably sourced at a good thrift store, and get a two or four burner induction cooktop, and then you’ll be good to go 😊

I had high hopes for this company because they used to offer reasonably priced steel frame kits which you could build yourself and then add siding, roof, windows, but it doesn't look like they offer that anymore. Now they are like most of the other companies.

Another smart home. I could definitely live in the Lite Pod. Seems perfect--no room to stash all the unneeded things I've held onto too long. Tiny kitchens can accommodate any cook. Yes!

It will depend where it will be placed. The Sandpiper looks great for a place by the beach, a lake. Now to more serious business.... Are you a cat internally, pushing the terrarium little by little off the table. OR are you just tired of us commenting on your hair and want to distract us from noticing your highlights? Lite POD is a great design: peaked roof, bedroom with the high horizontal window, wall space (serious essential for furniture & bookcases/shelves) and just a few but well-placed windows. The "hallway" is put to great use in a really WORKABLE kitchen with essential counterspace, cabinets, and dishwasher that are often skimped/skipped. The covered porch is definitely a bonus. And hooray for the company being so close to the Pacific Northwest.

That’s a great little layout. And very functional. Only change I would make it I’d do a shower stall in the bathroom to make room for a pass thru ensuite door.

The onsite manufacturing like this should reduce the waste encountered in the typical onsite construction. However it's still just a motel room. Where do you place your clothes and other possessions. You need a 2 car garage to go with it.

Since they are small homes, I doubt there would be large groups of people inside. I think it might be better to have the bathroom access in the bedroom rather than the living room.

Sorry I’m late. Got beer buzzed on Super Bowl Sunday. 🍺🥴 I like the lite pod. It looks narrow property ready. That’s an NYC issue that extremely limits what home designs we can pick from. It’s very cramped/Congested here in the big apple. Great pizza though.🗽🍕 I think the interior colors is where I might get a little creative, especially the living room. Certainly a different couch. I understand that was just staging but it looked bland for my tastes. 🛋️🤷🏻‍♂️ Bigger house but lower price. Now there’s an idea I can get behind.💡🏅 Great video Kerry. Keep kicking ass. 😎👊

I'm a big fan of the light gauge metal stud world. It'd be like my good old commercial carpentry days to get a kit delivered onsite, grab a set of drawings, put on the tool belt, and dive into a DIY project. Does Orca provide that service too?

Very curious - borderline prerequisite for me, actually - is the laundry area. Why none? The smaller unit seems good enough, but where the heck to put at least a washer? Furthermore, why not design some kind of exterior water tap area for hosing off stuff and all the common needs of a water tap? It’s like none of these home builders/manufacturers really know anything about real home living.

The Lite Pod for me. I want a bedroom with a closet, which it has. A Murphy bed and no storage is not very comfortable. If a developer came to Florida and built a community of these tiny homes, I would buy one. Add me to that mailing list, please. Tiny home communities are needed here BADLY, by seniors, singles, students, and well, everyone.

For 49,500 and at 375 sq. ft. I would rather buy the BOXABLE !! Located in Las Vegas , Nv. All furniture plus appliances included. Set up time is 3 hrs. It's an amazing casita , great set up with plenty of windows...

This looks like a very nice home. I like to steal construction methods. If they only do the pop-up for multiple units at a time, it sounds like it might be difficult for individuals to have one made.

So close, yet the screwed up the kitchen design. By putting the sink on the outside wall, they separated on the plumbing, which increases costs AND puts the pipes on an exterior wall making them easy to freeze. They could have put the sink where the stove is, gotten greater separation from the fridge AND had all the plumbing in a central wall, easier to protect from cold temperatures. Yes, they wanted a window over the sink because people like looking outside while doing dishes, I guess. I don't have that and never minded it.

I'm sorry that it ruins your experience. Is there something that you can do to relieve that anxiety ??? Perhaps just knowing that every time you see Kerry sitting in his recording corner you'll know you need to look down and breathe??? I'm sorry that your OCD is in so much demand of your physical response that you can't function when you see things off like that. If you look through the comments it's obvious why he doesn't fix it, the amount of positive feedback that he's getting from it is helping his algorithm (this making him money). I am truly sorry,, I have much empathy for people while they're suffering, I hope that you're able to get some help for that. You know therapy does wonders for some of us. Stay encouraged to continue to find your way.
