Price $100 - 150k minus delivery and land. I do tire of mini houses for rich people. They already have a mansion what they need these for ? they all just want Clubhouse jacking up the cost so normal people can’t buy any of them. no small house no super small house no medium no large no mansion. You’ll own Nothing and you’ll be happy remember?

I tried to work with these guys and they are not ready to work with families in the US. During the sale they said they would take care of all permitting (I literally have it on recording) and after putting down my deposit they basically said I had to request the permits. Not what I signed up for, I stressed I wanted turnkey service.

The dining table is really too big for the space. A corner sectional that goes in front of the windows and on the big side wall would open the space and provide much more seating. The tv could be on the back wall and you could have a small round kitchen table with four chairs in the kitchen space out in the open closer to the front door. I used to be the National Director of Merchandising for a furniture chain. I do not know where you are located but I’d love to find a part time gig staging homes at this point in my life.

I love the focus on fixing the problem of housing and development. I guess I don’t get it though. They look small and soulless. Not multi generational. And I don’t see it as sustainable. There are so many existing structures that will convert easily, and offer character. Leave the empty lots for nature AND rehab existing for inventory. Am I wrong?

Hey, Kerry, Thanks for this review. Your video explains partially finished options that I haven't found on Orca's site, though. I'm waiting for their reply, but wondered if they may have discontinued those options, and if you might consider doing a follow-up video about companies offering panelised or partly DIY prefabs. My building site has complications with the crane placement of a total unit, but could handle a smaller crane with panels. I'm also a person who enjoys doing my own finish work. Thanks!

End-of-May (2024) tornadoes in the US: I would not want to have to face straight-line 85 MPH winds like we had in the Dallas area this morning-much less the EF-2/EF-3 tornadoes that ripped through the counties just north of DFW this past weekend-in one of these thin-walled, tiny, cookie-tin coffins, much less have to replace all the electronics because lightning got to the steel frame.. These are ripe for displaying what I've termed the "trailer-park tornado-syndrome," in which someone from a wind-strewn trailer park shows up on local news, just to say, "I thought it was the end of the world!"

Thanks Kerry. We will keep this in mind . Not for today, but within the next 2 years. Presently on Olympic Peninsula ( cannot see that 3 story home from here , but we CAN see Vancouver Island - not kidding ). Always nice to have quality options. And…… as far as security camera go, I have been thinking about a night cam to watch a wild fox that I leave a plate of food for every evening, We have been doing that dinner date thing for about 2 years. Would be exciting to see him/her on camera more close up.

When he started talking about tiny homes and subsidies, it made me think this guy is a con artist or at really bad at building homes affordably. Right now in Vegas, there are builders coming under $300k for new townhomes/condos. And you never see taller than 2 story in 90% of our area. Chicago which is zoned for denser builds should be able to get $300k/door.

Truly this is what most people are wanting right now when it comes to living. There is no reason to have an apartment if there is going to be so much dead space. This keeps the carbon footprint very tiny and you just need to keep it on a lot. If you have a friend or a SO that wants something like this, you can just have a couple of them linked together like they showed here.
@rayparks6854Күн бұрын
Great video as usual. Please do more videos of houses in these larger size ranges. The ADUs and very small homes that you usually do are starting to get a bit boring. You make the best of those style homes, but you can only do so much in less than 800 sq ft.

Really good tour and the commentary you had with the developer was very interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing the outside cladding. I also wondered what the ceiling height was in the home. It looked low in that mudroom, but perhaps that was an optical illusion. Cheers!

I walked the model at the home show too and the price is wayy too high for the product offered. I get that modular homes are new but the model was a mobile home with extra windows and in no way justified the price. It was well over $100k for the 1bed plan and that wasn't even delivered or land cost. Btw, the buyer " just happening to be at the factory" is kind of cheesy man. Obviously it was set up to market their homes and that's ok, but just say that up front. We're not dumb. As more companies ramp up production, more cost-efficient processes will keep the overall cost down and make products like these in the future something interesting for sure.

Wish you'd include as "standard info" in the vids what powers" (electric, natural gas, oil, coal (JK, I hope), solar, etc,) these homes. A brief mention of "passive" and "net zero" ... would have nice to expand upon, as interpreted by this builder. Finally, any "new tech" typically in these builds, e.g. internal air filtration, wild fire mitigation, etc.

"Net zero" is such a crock. Thanks for showing us. I'm really not impressed with these guys, but thanks for your time. The reason the housing market is a mess is because of people who think these insane prices are "reasonable." Not your fault. You are just the messenger. Thanks, Kerry.
