In version 2.0, we bring popular functions like live view - so photographers and videographers can streamline their tethered shooting workflow with one program. A few of the new NX Tether improvements: 
- Video recording support 
- Configure a wide variety of camera settings so professionals have the support they need for both still image and video recording  
- Control over shooting settings unique to Nikon, such as Picture Control and Active D-Lighting. 
- An intuitive, adjustable interface allowing photographers to change the layout of the live view and control displays to fit their workflow  
- Allows wireless control to connect to the computer using Nikon’s free Wireless Transmitter Utility software using the Z 8 or Z 9’s built-in Wi-Fi

Version 2. Two! We've been tethering into laptops for like 12 years now! Nikon software has traditionally been terrible. Any reason to stop using Lightroom (or Capture 1) at this point? Was anybody asking for this?

I was super excited about this announcement until I downloaded the software and found out that it still does not work with the Nikon D850. I'm suprised that Nikon software does not... work with Nikon cameras?

Cool, exactly what I was hoping for, but only installs on my new macbook pro, instead of my classic macbook pro that I use for photography bc it has a 17" display and 16TB of drivespace to actually fit my lightroom catalog on it and if it gets destroyed it costs $200 to replace. If you would let it be installed on High Sierra, then we can use our less valuable older computers on the road, instead of dragging our insanely expensive and limited-usefulness fast new macs out into muddy fields and getting bashed around by assistants. Pllllllleeeeeeease Nikon.

Running a new Mac book pro with Ventura OS and it doesn’t connect to my Z 8 , called Nikon , he couldn’t help . Tried it on my old M1 Mac mini and it worked . Even with my new MacBook Pro I can’t even connect my Z 8 to Lightroom tether even using Rosetta 2 called Adobe and no help there either . So yeah I have the latest camera , the latest MacBook , the newest Nikon and adobe software and it doesn’t connect . Slightly frustrated at this point

I love that Nikon is supporting the D780 in this new version! I just downloaded v2 and tethering with USB-C works great for photos! Live View works for both photos and video too. However, video does not transfer to the computer even when destination is set to Computer + Card. Also, the D780 is fully compatible with the Nikon Wireless Transmitter Utility, so I wish wireless for the D780 was supported in NX Tether (docs say wireless is only supported for Z8 and Z9). Still a nice upgrade, thanks!

The connection to my Z6 II via USB C on my Mac is not that problem. But using the Focus Shift function in the software. The bracket is still greyed out even after resetting my camera options. I run NX Tether on my Mac mini. Would be great to know if this is a feature which is still not implemented or not useable with my Z 6 II.
