This is a one great bench meter and an absolutely perfect foundation to an electronics lab. The 8805E is a ridiculously fast 5½ digit, 200k count meter with a 4½ inch full color LCD display.

I have an 8804N (available now as 8804E) 60K count meter which has been rock solid for me. UNI-T makes great bench meters.

Thanks for diving into this meter Paul! What an awesome piece of gear. I share your enthusiasm for the UNI-T Bench DMMs. They seem to have a way with them. It runs right down through the line too. I purchased an 8803E a while back and was so impressed by it that I re-organized the bench around it. A more modest device than the 8805 for sure, but it has the same over the top solid functionality within its class as the more expensive models do. Similarly impressed by the UNI-T bench meters! Looking forward to part 2 on this guy. - jrh

Thanks! This is a real meter. There are many 50k 60k multimeters that are very very close. However, the LSD is usually wrong. 😎 Great video and I like this 5 1/2 multimeter.

A common misconception is that "since an ac multimeter is true RMS, its sinewave accuracy specifications apply to all waveforms." Actually, the shape of the input signal can dramatically affect measurement accuracy. A common way to describe signal wave shapes is crest factor. Crest factor is the ratio of the peak value to RMS value of a waveform.

It is indeed pricey for beginners. I agree. I'm going to aim for UNI-T UT8804N (4 1/2 digits) and almost half the price of this one. A good friend of mine has one since 1 year ago, used and abused daily an he loves it to bits. He claims that the meter is very accurate and is basically the best he's ever had.

Durante la visualizzazione dei grafici, quando la memoria è piena il multimetro si inchioda e bisogna spegnerlo per sbloccarlo, che schifo. La gestione della reimpostazione manuale delle soglie di un grafico è orribile, non compratelo se dovete visualizzare grafici. L'autoscaling non esiste, quello manuale non funziona se la memoria è piena, che schifo. L'istogramma lo trovo inutilizzabile.
