I had a old Jeep Wrangler and the roof would leak in the rain snow. I recently got a Corolla that has 10K miles on it. It feels like a Rolls Royce every time I get in it.

There is no need to take it to the track regularly. Once maybe, and then use it for special occasions. People who can afford this have dedicated race cars. This is an investment.

I have to say, I know this is a piece by Top Gear magazine as opposed to the TV show, but what a fantastic video. Nearly 8 minutes without any driving, yet you had my attention the entire time. THIS is what the TV show needs to embrace, stop trying to recreate the magic of Jeremy, James and Richard... and just be your own thing. They know how to do this stuff damn well. Great video, beautiful car.

@@theautostopshop3688 Mate, if merc and aston can do it, i'm sure Porsche can manage with the hybrid system from their LMP1 cars. Case in point, The Carrera GT had the engine out of their LMP1 car.

@@FULLMETALAUTO when the Carrera GT was sold there were barely any emission rules and safety rules back then. AMG is struggling to make the F1 engine road legal(already 9 months late). Aston didn't even take the risk of building it's own engine(not a race engine) and is still not road legal in many countries. If making a race engine road legal was that easy every car manufacturer would have their race engines in their roadcars.

This is what formula 1 is about. It is the pinnacle of motorsport engineering. To make the most technologically advanced car is not formula 1's only goal though, they also want the technology to trickle down. Many of the innovations we see in some of today's cars like regenerative braking(not invented by teams in formula 1) were refined and developed further by formula 1 teams. They are pushing the limits of what a car can be, and as a result, the technology they develop will hopefully trickle down to the global car market after some years of course. Side Note: Mercedes managed to achieve 50% efficiency with their 2018 W09 F1 car, if you understand what that means in relation to thermodynamics you will truly be astonished.

F1? Pinnacle? LMP1-H. The fact that it's dying has nothing to do with anything - they've all been more advanced than anything F1 ever bringed to the table.

But in actuality not much technology developed in F1 trickles down... F1 is probably the branch of motorsports from which the least technology trickles down, although they've been wrongly credited to be for years. Much more, a LOT more comes from Rally, WTC-cars etc. F1 is much too specialized to have technology developed for their cars to trickle down... You could actually say it's the other way around, for example hybrid systems, regenerative systems, brake technology etc. used in F1 is usually adapted from commercial car manufactures or other branches of motorsports... there hasn't been any new technology in F1 that has trickled down for decades.

Quite normal. When you buy a Pagani you pay extra for the dials, wheels, paintwork and some other bits. It's like you can get a 488 for 170,000£ but put some good options on it and you are close to 190 - 200k

They aren't as round as the other type plus they corrode if you do lots of winter driving in Canada with them. If you are just lollygagging around in Southern California with that 55 mph speed limit to observe then the mag wheels will be fine. But better drivers than you might need them as their journeys are more important than yours and the weight saving would be worth it to them.

Ah, I feel a bit silly, didn't think about the other properties about from weight saving. I assumed the buyer would just want the most hardcore version of this car but fair point about location. I can understand options on a Ferrari, even on the previous trinity hypercars, but perhaps these are a no-cost option for the lucky future owners of this,

Allen Saunders komigsegg struggle to go in a straight line , listen to the footage of them being test driven on their test track in a straight line , even the test driver struggles to get all the power down , think they will spin their wheels in 5th gear , now just imagine trying that around the Nurburgring ! That’s why the veyron/Chiron were such amazements , Cos they could do 200+ but also quite able to drive them down the shops in the rain , Konigsegg cant do this.

It's an F1 engine detuned to about 500hp. It has 3 electric motors. There is nothing actually iimpressive about 1000k HP with 3 electric motors plus ICE. Lotus Evija makes 2000hp with 4 electric motors. Impressive thing about this is track performance.

implodingbaby implodingbaby I would be impressed but latest reports are 1000 hp and 125 hp for the KERS system for total or 1100 hp. However I’m skeptical when the real car comes out it would have even 1000hp. I think it will be around 900hp considering the highest hp for a NA car now is the 812 Superfast at 790 hp which also has a 6.5L engine. We’ll see

C. Le Just another V12?? You must be joking. A naturally aspirated V12 is a dying breed with real emotion, and passion. Yes it is very cool that the AMG uses an actual F1 drivetrain, but it's a drive train from the least interesting generation of F1 in history, extremely technologically advanced yes, but a 3L V10 at 13,000 rpm is just better. Also about the 812 SuperFast, it will only rev out to just shy of 9,000 rpm, the Valkyrie exceeds that by almost 2000 rpm, and a few more years of development time, 1000hp is not out of the question at all

@Food for thought Exactly But you are a bit wrong, Rimac C Two does 1.8 sec 0.60 and about 6.6/6.9 sec 0 to 300 but it was made in 2018 so there are about 3 cars to top up the regera in acceleration but only 2 of them are road legal ...

@Food for thought The Agera RS is not in the same category because of the Fuel only Engine while the regera is part electric with V8 making the total of 1800HP but combined without the power of the electric engines it tops at 850HP.. And the Agera RS is not Street Legal maybe downed version but not fully unlocked..

@@KTBLGaming Koenigsegg regera NEVER went faster than 200kph. The car is a desaster with a flawed gearing system... You pathetic fanboy don't even realize why there is literally no video/source that the regera actually proved the numbers (in terms of acceleration and top speed) koenigsegg claimed... The Mercedes however will certainly be quicker around any track than any recent koenigsegg car. Dont even compare that Swedish rubbish which only is fast in the straight line, to the hypercar-killer mercedes project

I love the fact that since the Bugatti Veyron came out we've been living in the motor age of the hypercar. All these amazing technical machines coming out that are just excellent pieces of engineering. I will probably never see one or even own one, but I love even just looking at them.

The Senna GTR doesn’t compete against the LaFerrari FXXK Evoluzione. The LaFerrari FXXK competes with the P1 GTR. The LaFerrari FXXK Evoluzione is a variant alongside the LaFerrari FXXK, whereas the Senna GTR is a successor to the P1 GTR.
