So Mito is not just the album title of Ian's first album ("Moodswings In This Order"), it's also a character. Ian has bipolar disorder and Mito is this side of him, which expresses the darker and harder times. Ian incorporated Mito into the songs, too. So when his voice sounds a bit different, that's Mito. When the lyrics say "he loved you" (in Nerves), that's Mito. You are absolutely right that his music was dark. His whole album is very concept-driven. The MVs are also connected. The order is So Beautiful, No Blueberries, Nerves (the next one would be Scaredy Cat). He absolutly expresses himself with his art, that's what I love about Ian. Also: Ian directed his MVs. And yes, it is very real for them! DPR is all about that. These men are so special! Thank you for reacting to them!

I don't know if you know now, but DPR is a "creative group", they produce their own music and music videos! They are extremely talented and super passionate about what they do! They do all!

Ian (Christian Yu) is relatively new in terms of releasing music so he has less discography in comparison. DPR stands for Dream Perfect Regime. They're described as a multi genre music and video group. Ian is actually more known for directing/editing music videos for DPR. He came to Korea (from Australia) to be a dancer. Before he joined the DPR crew he was the leader of a group called C-Clown (no longer active), going by the stage name Rome. DPR Live (Hong Dabin) has been active in music since about 2015 I think. He ended up pursuing music after he completed his mandatory military service because he was motivated to go after his dream of music.

I think Christian openly spoke about his mental problems and the art form is the best way to express what was in his head? Blueberries are his demons I guess, as everything potentially might trigger unstable side of us. He is genius. DPR team is one of the kind. Real artist. Their behind the scenes documentaries (LIFT-OFF for DPR's Is Anyone Out There? then the one for DPR Ian's own album) are one of the realest stuff I've watched. You'd love to see them. I bet, as a musician/artist, you'd find comfort in all of their struggles which seemed absolutely miraculous how they made everything work.

Dpr Crew are like one of my favorite artists of my life (I literally have scaredy cat by dpr ian tattooed on my leg). Everything they do it's pure art, and inspire me a lot as an artist myself. It's really amazing seeing people knowing how incredible they are. Hope you can check more about their work, specially bc the are a lot more like dpr cream's music, a lot more from dpr live either, so... I hope you can check them one more time.

i just GASPED SO LOUD. thank you so so so much for reacting to dpr, they are such a special and unique collective and deserve infinitely more love. their artistic and creative process is so interesting to watch, they have a couple short documentaries following their process. they're self-made from the ground up and it's absolutely unreal to witness all they do as an independently run label. i think legacy by dpr live and summer tights by dpr live really showcase the kind of hollywood-level visuals they can accomplish even as a small label. it's mind-blowing. just thought i would suggest them to you if you want to check em out in your own time!

I really enjoyed this reaction video! Thank you for highlighting DPR! Yes, DPR is ART. They are basically a group of friends helping each other make their art together. They're a collective and completely self-finance every project they do. Controlling the $$ means control over their art, which is why their work is so authentic and and pure. The quality that they produce is astounding. ALL the visuals (directing and editing) is from DPR IAN's brain. They were all supporting DPR LIVE as an artist until Ian decided to do music again with MITO. DPR REM is the business man behind the scenes. LIVE, IAN & REM are the heart of the group. Hula Hoops is the only MV directed by someone other than IAN, but IAN did edit it to still give it the DPR flavor. Be sure to check out the rest of IITE Cool. And oh goodness, please check out LIVE's masterpiece Is Anybody Out There? album. The MVs they made for it are literally out of this world. For more info on IAN's work, check out the short behind the scenes video on Dream Perfect Regime's YT page called "Memories In Disorder." Ian explains a lot of his thought process for creating MITO. I really would recommend watching all the content on DPR's YT page from the beginning so you can see their progression. You started with the HARDEST MV to understand, Girl! Basically, it is Ian's alternate personality (which he's named as MITO) coming out as he dips into one of his depressive episodes. The music and the MV are complete opposites because he's fighting his inner self and is still trying to cover over what's happening to him. It took me many times of watching to understand what was going on, and it is very hard to watch someone coming apart inside. I recommend listening to the album MITO from beginning to end. It really does tell a story. I believe that the eye is a visual representation of the character of MITO. MITO's voice is heard as Ian's distorted voice in the songs. In Nerves, when he says "he loved you," he's referring to his other self - Ian vs. MITO. Nerves is about how depression and anxiety takes a toll on relationships. (MITO did come out after Ian had one of the darkest times of his life. He did indicate that an important relationship ended and it had hurt him deeply.) No Blueberries is about Ian's fear and anxiety. The blueberry represents how something can seem as small as a blueberry to one person but for another it can become a huge monster. Thus, Ian running from the blueberry monster in his head. Another interesting tidbit: Ian said that he wrote No Blueberries a while before the rest of MITO when he was very upset with someone. As for the CL connection, DPR helped produce her song 5STAR and IAN appeared in it with her. I have heard conflicting information if the 5STAR MV is officially connected to the MITO MVs though. The story may not be, but some locations are used for both. Plus, CL appears in very quick shots in profile or from the back in So Beautiful and Nerves. I believe she represents IAN's past relationship. Be sure to check out MIITO (or MITO2) when it's released on July 29. I believe he'll be exploring the other side of his bipolar disorder - mania. Sorry to write a book here! I just really love these guys and how they put their hearts into everything they do.

DPR is know for its visuals especially Ian. He is the one who does/did most of the cinematography for DPR. DPR stands for Dream Perfect Regime, they are a crew who work together. DPR Cream is another artist in the crew. At first only DPR Live really made and put out music then Ian and Cream came out with their music. Both Ian and Lives recent albums have such good storylines and cinematography. DPR is so hard working and there's a guide if you wanna look into them, as well as funny moments. There's also a compilation of Ian being absolutely clueless about internet slang on his Instagram lives 😭.
