Matrix fans can look forward to a brand new Matrix movie coming from director Drew Goddard. Drew Goddard is helming the new film, who you might know as the man behind The Martian and The Cabin In The Woods. No Wachowski is in the driver’s seat of this one, instead Lana Wachowski will serve as executive producer. As to why Drew is helming the film, the WB’s Motion Pictures president said, “Drew came to Warner Bros. with a new idea that we all believe would be an incredible way to continue the #Matrix world, by both honoring what Lana and Lilly began over 25-years ago and offering a unique perspective based on his own love of the series and characters.” There’s no word on if #TheMatrix movie will feature the original cast of Keanu Reeves and company, but IGN will keep you posted. We also have news on Velma season 2, plus Joker Movie 2.

The best route they could take is exploring Animatrix.. the story of the worlds governments being after Morpheus and Trinity as the most dangerous ppl in the world... This was cuz they figured out the truth. And was running around the world evading them setting others free. They could explore the more emotional gritty part of realizing this isn't real... the horror and suspense of "the agents"... They could even show a bit of what led to the Matrix. Show the gritty raw moments of the robot rise and AI. And then the events that led to the war. Which was humans betraying the robots, blocking out the sun thinking it was gonna take them out which backfired and destroyed the world, and then the eventual 1st war between humans and robots. They could basically have a raw, fresh prequel on the level of inception.. that segues into the future series

Why a new Matrix movie… because for an entire generation those films stood for something that has been either forgotten or disregarded. The belief that the narrative being fed to us by pop-culture, society, and via “authorities” in general is not the rule of law, but simply an interpretation of the world around us which is our choice to accept or not. Years later the films have been re-examined as a trans metaphor. This is a different (but equally valid) interpretation which ultimately leads to the same conclusion… “there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.” -Morpheus.
