Great to see you outdoors during this crisis.im hiking the PCT and and they’re telling us to get off to go home to populated areas where we would have more exposure to the virus. Point in case, had I gone home, I would have been exposed to the virus like my family has been. Now they’re all quarantined. Have fun and enjoy nature’s beauty like I’m doing.

Sorry to hear that Jerry....I hope you guys are doing ok. Totally hear you, it's frustrating. Camping is completely banned in Ontario now. A safe, easy outing like this with maximum social distancing is forbidden but you can mill about in Walmart and touch everything.

Yet another beautiful movie to cheer us up! And by the way, you're welcome to visit us in Scandinavia anytime :-) I guess you'll find it much like Canada, but a lot smaller! We don't have those vast areas of wilderness that you have. And yes, that makes me a little envyous.

Backcountry Angling Ontario upon rewatching it, yup it’s a crossbill. Didn’t noticed the crossed bill before. Both species have the red with slight yellow and white wing bars. They can look very similar. I guess size would be the best way to differentiate them without a really good look at em.

Nice relaxing trip. I am a hammock camper too, but I have never tried the Amok. It looks very comfortable, just more bulky than a standard hammock, and more expensive. Shug is the hammock authority and has a great Ytube channel himself. He has done several reviews on the Amok and made them look just as good as you and Erin did. Look him up sometime. Keep up the great videos.

Thanks rifleman! So comfy, can't wait to sleep (and read) in it again. I've seen some of Shug's stuff but I don't think I saw his Amok reviews. Going to look that up now :)

Sweet location! Took my wife hammock camping last November & we had a spot near a stream that fed a small, but tall waterfall downstream. She absolutely fell in love with it! She normally liked Car Camping with facilities & all that, but other folks tended to ruin the relaxation. Not so primitive camping - didn't have a Soul around! Kinda dig those Amok hammocks.

Who couldn't love that eh? The lack of speakers and motors and parties makes such a difference. We're loving the Amoks. Bit of a learning curve to getting into them, but so comfy

Awesome new hammocks, brewskis, running water, and Pooh sticks. Life just doesn't get much better. The hammocks look very comfortable...what about the packability & weight (I'm a backpacker)?
@LostLakes
@LostLakes 4 жыл бұрын
That does sound incredibly chill when you put it that way...all we needed to complete the experience was some warmth. The hammock with bug net is 1350g and the tarp is 500g. I'm sure you could shave some grams with a less deluxe hammock, but I guess that's the constant trade-off between comfort and practicality. They also offer a standard "gathered end" hammock which is only 495g. amokequipment.ca/products/

Thanks for the great info video. What did you think of the last book you read " Beyond the Trees. It is good to see Erin and yourself out enjoying the weather, on one of your trips. Any chance you will let us know what trips you have planned for this coming year.

Thanks JD! Beyond the Trees was wonderful. Highly recommend it. Our plans are completely up in the air right now with the pandemic, but we've got an exciting list of about 30-40 options to choose from lol. At least one will be an exploratory trip similar to our ice out trip last spring :)

Yeah I know eh....worse having no fire in the morning! We had wraps that we made at home. In the morning we were going to have nice hot tea on the gas burner, but it was too cold for the iso-butane. Something I didn't realize because I never use gas cans....hate 'em. Hahah thanks AS!!
