Andy, great to see you getting a Blackstone. Three pro tips, keep a long stick lighter in your kit. The igniter will fail. Find wind guards. Since you camp so much, the wing guards will help you. Lastly, when you’re oiling the Blackstone after cleaning, wipe oil on the side walls, both inside and out to help prevent rusting. Have fun making smash burgers. Skillet.

The anti-condensation mat is a necessity for roof-top tents. I also have a mattress topper in mine to give some extra thickness to the standard mattress. The RTT I have has twin channel T-track on the base, allowing the awning to be mounted directly to the tent. I also put the ladder in the tent before closing it.

Greetings from Canada, eh! Luxury!! When I was a lad, we had to fight off bears, wolves and beavers. Carrying a canoe on our heads, a pack on our backs and a 60 pound Egyptian cotton tent strapped to our chests. That was just to get to the car before we went camping!!! Now, you lads have got it made. Weed eaters, power banks, pizza ovens. What next, a freezer to keep your soft serve, Tutti-fruity ice cream in? Just kidding, Andrew. That looks like the way to go. Well done.

@garytrainer1690 It's not very feasible to randomly drive around the country stopping in places or driving down dirt tracks where I might end up getting intro trouble with landowners or set upon by gangs of youths in the middle of the night. I've never camped outside of official campsites before so a bit of local knowledge or advice from an expert would be extremely useful.

In the Uk either you get land owners permission or you're tresspassing but most people tend to turn up late in the day to do it and it depends where you are as to how much risk it is. Do it on the South Downs in the middle of summer and its like Picadilly circus at night. Do it in mid-Wales in the middle of the Cambrians - not so much. Andy - are those roof tents long enough to stretch out in or do you have to sleep in a ball ?

Triangle shaped RTT is my way to go 😊 much more wind and rain proof, so easy and fast to set up, more head space for a quick and easy change of clothes - as soon as you’re getting used to sitting the other way round your head won’t touch the tent anymore 😝 …and yes that mesh matt underneath the mattress is meant to prevent condensation wettening the mattress and mold as a consequence of that, also gives a bit of insulation same as the “fancy posh” layer above btw ☺️ …and you’re back plate still off 😂😂😂

Thanks Andy for another awesome and relaxing video. I just bought 36” approximately a meter Blackstone four burner backyard grill and pleasantly surprised by how fast and efficient it has turned out. I cooked 1 pound of bacon in 10 minutes after a 5 minute pre-heat on low with the hood down followed by 3 pounds of ribeye stake that I pre-seasoned in about 15 minutes more after I removed the bacon. I basically repeated the same process again about a week later and my 1 gallon propane take is still in the Green so I happy. I wished I had bought one earlier, that being said I would need to install a mini winch a tackle to take it camping…over 155 pounds. Thanks for the weed-eater ideal as I have my EGO battery powered one. Happy and safe camping expeditions. Have a great week!
