OH yeah! I absolutely had a similar experience with this song. To be fair I've cried many times to this song. First time i saw it I cried and the interesting thing is that I didn't know the back story. I didn't know Dimash had to phonetically learn the song in a week and was nervous. I didn't even know the lyrics of the song as the version I was watching didn't have subtitles. I cried anyhow. But, it's cool because I can tell it was Dimash's voice and performance alone that brought forth those emotions. He has some sort of metaphysical power to fill his voice full of emotions and transfer them directly into your soul. And this isn't just a one off experience. He has done this multiple times, in multiple songs. to a multitude of people. Crazy amazing beautiful power he has!

I've watched every episodes of I Am Singer 2017 competition and there were cream of great professional talents on the show both women & men. Dimash was 22 years old at the time, youngest competitor ever but he was way way more mature for his age. Dimash constantly over ruled his musical director to add more drums and other instruments to the arrangements. His Musical Director wanted to add more dramatics and flair into his performance but Dimash just stuck to what he knew best and should have won the show. It was taken out by Sandy Lam. All the contestants were seasoned and famous professionals, aged from 22 to 60s. Right from the get go Episode 1, the audience took ” Dimashi “ to their hearts. Chinese affectionately called him the "Our Imported Brother”.

This performance on the "Singer" ensured Dimash's standing of Magastar in China. There is a very special song called "Jasmine" and to be asked to sing it is considered to be a great honour. Dimash has been asked to perform it for the last 3 years to welcome in the Chinese New Year. For a foreigner to be asked to do this is unheard of. This is shows the incredibly high regard he is held in China, all these performances are on utube. Also since you loved "Autumn Strong" so much, you Must watch his performance in his Kiev concert (the same one as "Marigolds") last March, it's truly breathtaking.
