'I Shot the Sheriff' covers often disappoint. I love this version, almost as much as the original. If someone said Ren was Marley reincarnated, I could believe it. Rare to see someone embody and feel the music like Ren does. - Another great reaction, so much fun to see someone that knows the original songs and appreciates their relevance.

I have brain damage as I died in hospital in august 2016, and it gave me mild brain damage. Love your reactions. You're just barely scratching the surface with Ren. He plays almost every genre you can think, Rap, Hip Hop, Rock, Punk, Reggae, Pop, Ballads, Bardcore (which is what the Tales of Jenny & Screech is) etc,. He plays the Piano, Bass, Guitar & Drums. He produces his own beats. He beatboxes like a champ. He can sing with the best of them and his penmanship is like a modern day Shakespeare crossed with a top style lyricists like Eminem, John Lennon & Tupac. He has two solo albums, one from 2015 called Freckled Angels and one that he released in Oct called Sick Boi. It hit number 1 on the charts in the UK. He also has a band called The Big Push and they released an EP called Can Do Will DO with 6 original tracks. Everything he's done is top quality and I'm hoping you'll work your way through it all. @@niftyhacker Yes, I guess they are. In my mind I was separating them from full polished albums and thinking of them as more of a 'mix tape' sort of thing, but you're right, the songs are as good as any of the others. Some of them are among my favs too. Peace. 😁

Ren said that the giant hip-hop movement of the 90s in the U.S. didn't make it's way to the UK. He said that the UK's version was a massive resurgence of reggae and Ska. So all of the classics like Marley and the new stuff like the Police were Ren's "cool" upbringing.

Great to see the joy you got out of that performance. Brighton is our closest city and my son went there shopping when the lock downs were lifted, he actually saw that performance, he told me this when I was watching this one day, he didn't realise how bid it was. After lock down venues and Arenas were still closed, so the Big Push took it to the streets, there are many clips of Ren busking on the streets of Brighton including more with the Big Push. #HOGUK

I think the biggest compliment I’ve seen for Ren’s performance here is when various Jamaicans react to Ren and they can’t believe he is not at least part Jamaican. I knew he sounded good to my ear, but when he sounds convincingly Jamaican to Jamaicans, he must be doing well. When I first watched this, I couldn’t make my mind up if “doing the accent” was in bad taste, a kind of cultural appropriation like yellow face etc, but seeing how thrilled so many people are who’s culture this is, who know much more about it than I do, stopped me worrying. It’s done with huge respect and honouring the original artists as well as bringing their unique style to it as well.

you HAVE TO watch the Ren and Sam Tompkins "improvising around Stevie Wonder" live busking video. You can literally see Ren and Sam like look at each other and surprise the other guy with what random song they pull out. At one point Ren changes it up to a different song and Sam actually laughs like "oh! ok! let's do that song now!"

Every time I see this performance, I wish that I could have been there - it looks magical! Roman Axisa (the guitarist) is also a talented vocalist, you might want to check out some of his solo stuff. The Big Push had to "break up" so that Ren could go to treatment in Canada. I believe they are open to working together again, if the opportunity arises. Great reaction! Glad you're a Renegade ;)

You;ve also got a great vibe, lol! 🤠 Because of Ren/The Big Push and all of their busking videos--especially this one--I decided that the next time I go to the UK, I'm definitely headed to Brighton. I realize The Big Push are no longer together (at least for now), but it's the whole energy of the busking scene there and the settings for Ren videos like the Tale of Jenny and Screech that have got my attention. I don't think the band have broken up, just off doing their solo work. Ren said never say never, so they may perform together at some point. Love your reaction bro. Please check out Ren's song Murderer. Then check out the acoustic version for an extra treat that I'm positive you'll enjoy.

Ren is definitely talented, he's doesn't shy away from many music genre's, that's what makes him so versatile as well as relatable to more than just one group of people, I think. Also, he sings about things a lot of other's wouldn't, one example he's never hid his health issues. He sings about these things & I believe that's where he's different. The world needs to hear the truth, we're sick of being told lies, we're sick of being lied to by a very government who says one thing & does the exact opposite seconds later behind doors! Anyhow, TY for your reaction, Ren really has a versatile voice, he achieves many tones, accents & genre's & he can 'flip in & out' of styles so quicklyl! Cheers

Ren sent a message out that he might have unintentionally by accident put an album together in homage to his favourite influences, and that we should expect some new stuff in the not so distant future. This, as well as The Police, Brit Pop, etc are what he told us are his roots, Rage against the Machine as well. We will get more of singing Ren soon!

Busking doesn't get better than this. That's better than any concert you can find too. Such a shame they were forced to split because of Ren needing to get treatment. They could easily have blown up into a massive act.
