Haters refused to acknowledge the fact that Aryne Fuller, Tavares' soon to be wife just recently accepted a job here in Mississauga. Why would she do that if Tavares was going to some other team, if he was going to New York or San Jose or any other city she would have accepted a job in the city Tavares was going to. The fact is he had a home in Toronto and he would come back to his home every year once the season was over, he has a lovely girl here in Toronto and was going to get married to her in this very city he lives in. Last thursday, he decided to go back to Toronto to have a peace of mind, if he wanted to go to another city why did he go to Toronto in the first place? Why did he decided to take his time in Toronto when he can take his time and get a peace of mind some where else? And there were reports that JT is going to make an announcement in Toronto on Saturday, why would he make an announcement in Toronto if he was going to get signed by another team? I felt Tavares unlike many other free agents had the strongest possibility of coming back home and playing for this team because of all these factors that I mentioned.

- I remember all the Stamkos hype a couple of years ago; I didn't think Stammer would go to Toronto for the simple reason that the Leafs at the time weren't in a position to contend just yet whereas Tampa Bay was & still is a legit Cup contender. And this time around with Tavares, Leafs management made a modest but effective attempt at luring Tavares & this time it worked. Yeah maybe a few years ago the thought of Tavares playing for the Leafs would've been a nice pipe dream but not a reality. But now with Tavares coming to the Leafs while still in the prime of his career, this is a great opportunity for both Tavares & the Leafs. Can't wait for the season to start! I'm not going to start making predictions just yet...but I certainly hope this team will just out & compete & win games.
