Closest I ever got to flying in a cropduster was my dad making passes along our runway in a supercub! Needless to say I loved it! When he let me loose to make a few passes I was thrilled and loved it even more!!!!! I miss those days.........

What a great opportunity! A friend of mine just bought a brand new two place, side by side. I don’t recall the model. He takes delivery next month. Very interesting young man, 32, and never sits still. Bought out a flying service with a partner about five years ago then bought his partner out about two years ago.

I believe that the only side by side cropduster is the Air Tractor AT 504. Where is he from?

I totally love the job. It’s long hours, but very seasonal here in Iowa. Do your friends fly for their jobs or for fun?

@TheLiFeInPines I can honestly say that I did a lot more “fun” flying before I started cropdusting. I need to make it a priority to fly for fun more often!

You accomplished what I set out to do. I owned a Cessna tail dragger to build time, but my situation took me to trucking. Now I have to settle for my Radio Control Air Tractor ag planes..

I understand that. For one thing, aviation is such an expensive profession to get into unless you go through the military!

Were you already an active pilot before taking your first crop-duster ride? Recording technology has taken giant leaps forward in 14 years!

Yes I was a pilot for about 2 years.
