Get a zero turn it’s a lot easier and they’re not as top-heavy as a riding mower
@bbouch577113 күн бұрын
Have you tried mowing a ditch bank on a zero turn??
@aggressivelyamicable598712 күн бұрын
LOL! Zero turns are way worse on hills. All the weight is on the back and the front wheels typically have minimal traction due to size and weight distribution. A nice JD garden tractor is going to outperform a zero-turn on hills every time.

Great Drone footage -- which really captured pulling the tractor and mower out, Amen to God's protective hand over each of us and especially those working with farming equipment-- When I was about 8, I remember riding on the fender of my Grandpa's 185 Allis Chalmers, he was going across the road to get a round bale of hay with the spear on the back of the tractor. When he backed up to get the bale, I turned my head to watch and let go of the slot my hand was in to hang on and the tractor jerked-- I think because the bale was about on which I wasn't expecting and I felt myself falling backwards, Grandpa had quick reflexes and caught my leg and kept me from falling off! My heart was a beatin' fast, bet Grandpa's was too.... glad I'm here to tell the story ❤

Years ago my brother was working for our neighbor, I was done with my job for the summer and bumming around home. He come boiling down the driveway runs in the house and says I need your help. Ok. He said we will need the 4840 and quick. He was discing along a creek about 5 miles away and when turning around the creek side gave way and that 4640 slid off into the creek. Funny thing is we could only find the smallest, rusty junky chain this guy had. Drove the 4840 down there and he wasn't lying, it was in the creek. It was only gods protection that it didn't roll over and that that junky chain stayed together to pull the tractor and disc out of that creek. Funny thing is I remember the 4840 barely grunting when pulling it out and that chain stood straight out when we were done. If we would have to have jerked on it, I'm positive that chain would have snapped....... It's a miracle that us 3 boys survived childhood and are still around to this day. It can only be by the grace of God!!!

Hello I only just found your channel. I share your passion for farming and flying… Very interesting watching you work on the aircraft just like it’s another tractor. I would like to know how much chemical you get exposed to Ag flying? Do you smell it a lot in the plane? I used to drive a ground spray rig but I didn’t really like being exposed to that much chemical ever day.
@IowaFlyingFarmerАй бұрын
When spraying a field, we start from the downwind side and work upwind so we really don’t get a lot of smell if we run a back to back pattern. If we work a racetrack pattern, then we can start picking up some smell. Some pilots will wear a respirator if it is a strong smelling chemical
