Warm, dry and sunny, perfect weather for the classic Bluestack Ridge and my first solo mountain wild camp 🏕👍 However, the Donegal weather had it's own plans. Come with me and find out what went wrong and why the list below has only one summit instead of eight 😔

Thank you 😊 Made it back up on to the same ridge on Saturday from the other side. We were beaten back by wind and rain this time but thankfully we only had a day hike planned 🙈

Niall, that is a different view of the Old Schoolhouse👍 perhaps the best starting point to head into the Bluestacks. It is a tough and long climb to the summit of Glascairns Hill alright. It was cool to see that mist blowing over the ridge giving n indication of the weather. Cool walking along the Efferangh River👍 Did you walk down past the farmhouse? I am never sure if there is someone living there and always give it a wide berth. A walk to look forward returning to in the future👍

That wee hill handed me a big lesson that day! I'd say you had less problems last weekend 😉 Pretty sure I passed the house you mention, definitely came out through the edge of the farm yard. Nobody living there. Met some hunters on the way up and they said access isn't an issue but still stayed across the river on the way up. Coming down I was tired and gutted and didn't care so much 🙈😆
