He was semi retired, however, they talked him into it. This song revived his career. Check Out some Junior Walker; songs include; Shotgun, Roadrunner, What Does it Take to Win Your Love, Pucker Up Buttercup, Home Cooking, Hip City Parts 1 & 2, Shake and Finger pop, Gotta Hold On to This Feeling, Do You See My Love For You Growing, Way Back Home, Peace and Understanding, Dancing Like They Do On Soul Train, Hard Love Suggest some other classic Soul Artists such as Wilson Pickett, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Taylor, Love the Channel Charlie

Thank you. "Urgent" off the Foreigner 4 Lp with Jr walker on the Saxophone. Jr Walker & the all stars had hits in the 60s with "Shotgun & What does it take to win your love." Foreigner tune "Girl on the moon" had alot of Airplay and has Awesome Quality Production. "Waiting for a Girl" was a huge hit for Foreigner. Mick Jones & Lou Gramm Collaboration. The Tracks were already recorded and Mick took Jr Walker into the Studio to add The Saxophone Solo and Jr asked "Where's the Band?" Mick told him it''s in The Key of E and Jr Replied "No matter what Key, Just roll the Tape."

The propulsive synth parts, still relatively new to music in 1981, were written and played by a young Thomas Dolby, who would go on to have a decent solo career in the 80s and hits like She Blinded Me With Science and Hyperactive.

They also hold the distinction of having a Song at #2 the longest by not going to Number One. It was Waiting For A Girl Like You. That was because Physical by Olivia Newton-John was Number One for 11 Weeks in 1981. I Want To Know What Love Is went To Number One and it was featured in a Swedish Teen Movie called Show Me Love or F@cking Amal which is a town in Sweden.

I love how the beat almost sounds like the constant repetition of a police siren or ambulance being called to an emergency... it's urgent... and then the main sax solo comes in and it sounds even more like a siren and also like a ... completion. The producer, Mutt Lange, and the band decided they needed saxophone on this song, someone who sounds like Junior Walker. They looked around and finally decided, hey why don't we ask Junior himself? They recorded 12 takes of his solo and it was decided that the first one was the best, rough edges and all.
