👍🏻A bit longer timeline than that. the midterms were 2018, during Reputation Tour. This (album and video) dropped the summer of 2019. The documentary covered both periods, but doesn't stress the passage of time from the album (2017), the tour (2018, mid terms), and her moving on to Republic Records ( later 2018) and her dispute with Big Machine (2018 +++). It was ongoing while filming but not included in the documentary. It all makes me re - interpret Reputation, and the videos: when she cut the wings off the plane in lwymmd, I think she was pre - announcing her departure and her cutting of ties with Big Machine; her clothes (Chainsaw Taylor) (pink and white floral print) look like an Easter Egg for the Lover album (as she says in the doc, she plans things two years out or more. . . . ) ❤

Short answer: $250 to $300. Long answer (I removed external links to eBay and Mercari listings to try to keep KZfaq from automatically deleting this comment again): In her store page, I thought this cat wristwatch looked a bit junky, so I passed at its original price of $35...this price didn't help my impression, given that non-functional jewelry is priced like this there. But later, when I saw resale photos, it looked a lot better and I wanted one, but by then they were sold out. 🤦 This was January 2020, 5 months after the album was released, and it was reselling new for maybe $100, but actual selling prices for new were anywhere from $52 to $234 after adding in shipping. Like you, I was curious about current prices, so I searched...there's so few listed now. On eBay, the only one in the past 3 months is reported "Sold May 14, 2024" for $260.00 + $4.38 shipping. On Mercari, the only one is reported "Sold 5d ago" for $270.00 + 13.50 shipping. On Poshmark, I didn't see any now. If you have any more questions or comments, please don't hesitate. My answers won't all be this long, and if any are long, I'll try to remember to start with this "short answer...long answer" format. 🤭

Background on the long answer: While building my Taylor Swift merch collection, I learned a lot about buy-it-now and auctions. What I learned is that both sellers and buyers should research actual selling prices, and most sites have a way for you to see actual selling prices (not list prices). Selling prices vary widely, both within a site and across sites. For buy-it-now, what I learned is that items at the best prices will sell within 1 hour, so at my peak collecting, I'd search for them as frequently as every 15 minutes. For auction items at a site specifically like eBay, what I learned is that to get a lower price, it's best to refrain from bidding until literally the last few seconds...just make sure you're logged in, are familiar with the dialog boxes, enter the maximum price that you're actually willing to pay, proceed to the final dialog box where you would confirm your bid, and at 3 seconds remaining click the button to confirm submitting your bid. On eBay, you'll usually pay less than your bid (or your bid will be beat), because if your bid wins, you only pay the second-highest bidder's bid plus the bid increment (or a partial increment that doesn't exceed your bid). (It's actually quite different from an in-person type of auction.) For example, for the cat wristwatch, I bid $41.02 and this won it at $31, because the highest bid from all other bidders was $30 and the bid increment was $1. There is a huge caveat to this specific listing. It was titled "Taylor Swift Benjamin watch". As it should, eBay listed it in a generic "Taylor Swift" search (unquoted). But bizarrely, eBay didn't list it in a more-specific "Taylor Swift watch" search (unquoted). So, eBay didn't show this listing to potential buyers specifically looking for this watch and it had only 2 other bidders! It was so bizarre, and I've never noticed eBay doing this before or since. At the time, this $31 was the lowest selling price for any in the past 3 months. I half-expected the seller to cancel the sale, even though that's against eBay's rules, but they sent it to me. As I used resale sites more and more, I became interested in resale site rules, and the simple approaches most people have to selling or buying on resale sites. I've thought about creating a KZfaq channel and covering resale site game theory on it. Also, I'd like to get one of my brothers, a former Prince stan (and still a Prince fan) to do some first time Taylor Swift reaction videos...but I doubt I'll get that to happen. More channel content could be my Taylor Swift merch collection...I started with CDs, DVDs, and then tour books as a fan. As a swiftie, now I have collected 65 t-shirts, 15 hoodies, woven blankets, guitar pick sets, perfumes, pajamas, 1 Red letterman leather jacket, shoes, jewelry, towels, books, blank notebooks, posters, VIP boxes, etc.,...but now she has so much merch that I sorta gave up collecting more.
