Melissa, Hans Platz (the guitarist of Feuerschwanz), and Jenny Diehl (the red haired duelist in this video, plays the harp) and Melissa's husband (Morten Sørensen the drummer from Amaranth) has their own band called Dark side of the Moon, the do covers from Sci-fi and fantasy shows as well as originals in similar themes. The two duelist are called Mieze Myu and Mieze MoushMoush when they perform with Feuerschwanz, you will see them in all videos as well as live performances.

Which is of course complete nonsense, because you can't translate the actual meaning of the name. About pronunciation: "Foy-er-shwanz" sounds good. Alea the Humble (the guy with the side cut) wasn't there for the main filming of the video. He was in hospital at the time with a serious health problem. But you can only see this when the drone camera pulls out to the long view, and then you can't see him. He recorded his parts later, also at a different location. They were then simply inserted into the overall video. Thomas Winkler alias Angus McSix (today), then Angus McFive, (the knight in green) is the ex-lead singer of Gloryhammer. Melissa Bonney is the lead singer of her own band. But all three have a very close connection with Feuerschwanz and have various "side bands" that connect them with each other. The song is a cover of Manowar. This is by far one of the best covers I've ever heard. Sorry for all Manowar fans, but it sounds a lot better than the original. I'm a big fan of Feuerschwanz. Listen to their albums all the time. This is one of my favorite songs ever. The unity, harmony, and vocal range of all these singers is amazing.

One thing I like about Saltatio Mortis (and also Feuerschwanz) videos is that they nearly never use CGI (I think only the dragon at the end of "The Dragonborn comes" of SaMo). It's all real people acting in real surroundings (in this video at a castle in Bavaria). I have heard that when they told Melissa "climb this high wall and sing there" she has not been very happy about it but did it.

They will soon release a new album called Warriors, which includes English interpretations of some of their songs. The album's first single, Highlander, comes highly recommended by me. This song is originally by Manowar, a completely insane band. I can never figure out whether they are such cool guys or such idiots. I guess the line between the two can be thin sometimes. My band used to cover this song years ago. If you want to get an idea about Manowar, you could listen to this song or maybe even better: Hail and Kill.

this is a cover of a song originally done by MANOWAR one of the most iconic and influential metal bands you never heard of. they sadly never got the follow they deserve in America but they are well know in the rest of the world and their influence over the last 40 years is undeniable. they are the original Kings of Metal! and i highly recommend you check them out. starting with their original version of this song.

Hallo, I just saw this video, and yes, as some others have been saying, the man in green is Thomas, the video was made in his transition from his two characters, Angus McFive, as he was known in Gloryhammer, and Angus McSix, the name of his new own band. As atleast one other have said, Melissa is married to Morten who is a part of Amaranthe, they also have some awesome songs maybe the best of them is the cover of Sabatons 82end all the Way, thats awesome from both bands. Thomas was also in a song called Valhalleluja by a band callad Nanowar of Steel, they have made some funny songs, one of them is Valhalleluja, a kind of chrismas song, another one i Pasadena 1994, were the lead singer from Sabaton is in it. It sounds like a war song, but its about the FIFA (Soccer) world cup final in USA 1994, so its very funny. Keep up the good work :D

The guy at 6:40, that is Thomas Winkler. In the past he was the lead singer of Gloryhammer but he has left the band and is now the singer of Angus McSix. Other Feuerschwanz-Songs....well that's a tough one there are so many good ones. For starters I'd recommend Untot im Drachenboot, Kampfzwerg, Bastard von Asgard (in this song they colaborate with Fabienne Ernie, the singer from Eluveitie which is another great band btw) and Ding (a cover of the song Ding by the German band Seeed; in this one they do another collaboration with Melissa Bonny).

The song is a cover of the Manowar song of the same name. In my opinion better than the original, especially because it's not just one warrior singing. At the beginning of the 2000s there was a wave of folk metal bands and Feuerschwanz emerged as a German parody of them. They were pretty sexist back then, the stage names of the band members still are today and the two GoGo girls fighting here also come from this time. As they get older, they become more serious and successful. There last two albums reached number 1 in the German album charts. Most of their songs are in German, but recently they have also done a lot of covers: FEUERSCHWANZ - Untot im Drachenboot (Official Live Video) | Napalm Records At the time of the video recording, Thomas Winkler was the lead singer of Gloryhammer, with the artist name Angus McFive and also wears his stage outfit. After the shoot, he was fired by his band via email and without explanation. Shortly afterwards, allegations of sexual abuse and racism against individual band members became known. Thomas is a Swiss notary and I suspect that he confronted his band with the legal consequences. The termination was probably the band's consequence. A German songwriter then offered to copy Gloyhammer's concept with him and they founded Angus McSix.
