I am glad you honestly stated that you knew and yet decided to NOT address any part of it other than I Love Lucy re-runs. Now I know. You can be you. And I can be me. No hard feelings. I just was mistaken in what I thought you were about. It's not the first time I've been mistaken and certainly, in life, it will happen again. What is important to me, simply isn't the same for you. Good luck in your ventures. I will move on to seek out others more in line with what I am looking for.

I was there! Survivor and first responder. Tower 1 fell on top of my office. No need to have “Never Forget” printed cuz I never will. I remember finally making it to my mother full of dust, ash, soot and she dropped to her knees hysterically crying cuz there was no way to let her know I was alive until then. I must’ve hugged my son and mother for an hour str8. I don’t have PTSD or anything but I haven’t been to the site ever since recovering the last remains we were able. Absolutely beautiful song!!! All Americans should listen to Where Were U and Red, White & Blue every year.

I remember very well. I was getting ready for work as a R.N. in a Recovery Room. My husband called me to the t.v. I started crying. I call work. I was instructed to come in. We were not supposed to mention it to our patients. My first patient was a elderly black man. His first words were I'll go! I'll fight. I held his hand as tears ran down my face. One of our O.R. Nurses lost her sister in the Pentagon. Great pick and reaction!

I was already at work in the procedure room when one of our coworkers called-she was out sick that day. We only had a few pts. And we all ran to the ER next door and turned on the TV. We were all in shock and just wanted our families. We finished our patients and then clocked out and went home to be with our families. I don’t know that I’ll ever forget that. I was 23 years old.

I'm also a medic. I had gotten home from my night shift and was sound asleep. My best friend called, my wife answered and told Steve I was asleep because I worked nights. Steve said (very seriously and not in his usual tone) "Wake him up and turn on the TV. Right now." I turned on the TV just in time to see the second tower get hit. About 5 minute later my pager went off. No one had a day off that day.

@@hatleyhoward7193 I thought I remembered somebody say that back in the day, but when I looked it up, I found I was mistaken... It was the "US Congressional Record" I was thinking of, not the National Archives... The lyrics were entered there by Georgia representative Mac Collins on November, 16 2001... I was a junior in high school, and although I was scared, the way people even strangers supported each other was so unbelievably comforting and eased those nerves. I miss how our country united after that day. Somewhere in between, we lost our unity, we are more divided and the hate is spewing wherever you look. It breaks my heart 🥺 Hopefully, we will get back there!

I was on the way home from a brief stay in hospital (rough miscarriage). Had to drive myself, with husband at home with our kids. I remember pulling over, putting emergency lights on, and crying my heart out. Hubby had kept the kids from watching, but they found out at school. The double shock messed with us all - two uncles were called in to assist from several states away, one barely missed being crushed. Alan captured the hard-to-believe situation perfectly. This song was on *every* radio station for months!

I was a high school teacher on 9/11, I did have classes of innocent children who I had to explain, as best I could, what was going on. I had no words to explain what they were hearing and seeing. It was all I could do to hold it together in front of the kids, and not to show my fear of what the possibilities could be. Even to this day, this song brings me to tears.

I was with my aunt taking her around to do errands. We were in the bookstore at the university campus when we heard the radio a worker was listening to. We were in the store as the first building collapsed. I took her home. I had the radio on the whole time. By the time I was almost home, I heard that all planes had been grounded. There shouldn’t have been any planes in the air. I saw a plane in the air. It was not a small plane. I freaked. I got home and shortly after the president delivered a press conference from Barksdale AFB. It was Air Force one I had seen.

He did not even say one disrespectful thing. He just didn’t start crying or get emotional about it like y’all wanted. He doesn’t have to prove his patriotism to any of you or give his political opinions…none of that. And he’s also not required to be 100% vulnerable to complete strangers on YT and share his every emotion. The fu@k? Get outta here with that mess. If y’all were really all about America like you pretend to be, then you’d be all about his freedom to express himself HIS way. 🙄 EDIT TO ADD: I’m a huge AJ fan and this is a great song. It makes me think about that day and the months and years after every time I hear it. I’m just not going to 💩 on someone for their perfectly respectful reaction to it because it differs from mine.

I was on my way to my folks to mow their lawn and the lady at the filling station had her tv on. I watched it for a minute or two before the buildings collapsed or even the 2nd plane had hit, so I thought it was just a bad accident. I went on and mowed their lawn and came in to see them both glued to the tv and both buildings afire. I watched with them for a moment, but then had to get out again and go mow my brother's lawn for him in town. I remember one of his neighbors asking me why I wasn't watching everything going down on the tv and I said I'm sure it'll still be on when I get everything done that has to be done. It may seem cold or callous to some folks, but you gotta live man. I'm sorry for the folks it happened to but I didn't know any of them and I had work to do and sitting and stewing about it wasn't going to accomplish anything. To me, the best thing you can do when something bad happens is to acknowledge it, but keep living your life because in the end, it's all you've really got.

If you have never heard the song written by Dolly Parton in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, you need to watch her performance of "Hello God" from the CMA awards in 2001. She is crying out to God, begging for time to make things right. "Do you love some more than others? We're so lost and confused. We fight and kill each other in your name, defending you." It ends with Dolly still calling out ""Hello God we really need you. Forgive us for we know not what we do."

This song reminds of September 11th that day. I remember exactly where I was during that time. I was in senior English class in Texas when the teacher wheeled in the tv. All the seniors walked out and said they were all going to join the military to go to war. The next year half of my friends enrolled into the war. My parents wouldn’t allow me to, even though I wanted to go so bad. Many of my friends didn’t make it home.

I was a 9 years old 4th grader, and remember the exact spot on the dirt road on my school bus route when I heard the male and female radio hosts on my local 106.9fm radio station break the news about the first tower being hit. Paraphrasing: Male host, "There appears to have been an accident where a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Centers. It wasn't a little bush plane, it was like a full sized 747." I had no clue what tower they were talking about. But I briefly pictured a bush plane crashing into the side of a 40-ish story building, and not doing much damage to the building.. Then I continued to blankly stare out the bus window, forgetting about it. When I arrived at school, we had a substitute teacher that kept periodically returning to our class to tell our main teacher what was happening. Telling her the second tower was hit. Then returning with tears in her eyes and telling our teacher about the people jumping. Then again when the towers fell. I didn't get to see what actually happened until I got home later that day. I just remember seeing the live aerial shots at night of the smoldering rubble, and the rescuers' lights flashing as they were searching through the rubble. I'll never forget that day, even though I was young and didn't witness it happening live.

I know exactly where I was. I was in labor and delivery giving birth to my youngest. By afternoon I was in an emergency c-section because I was bleeding out internally and had a 40% chance of making it. I didn't see my son till the following day because I was in such bad shape. But we have a reason to celebrate on 9-11 with my baby.

Those who remember will never forget what we did, where we were. All day atvwork we were trying to get updates from our head office.

3:23 That's a mandolin. Used mostly in bluegrass, and some country music.

I was on AIT with about 4 days left until graduation. I left that evening to head to Ft. Campbell to join my unit. Deployed to Afghanistan about 2 weeks later.

Had just gotten up, had TV on, came from kitchen to sit down and watch a show, when the announcement cut in, was calling a friend when the second plane hit.
