I feel the same way with simple man. I feel the Deftones version is better than the Lynyrd Skynyrd. Same thing with the alien ant farm MJ. Let them take this bad boy. And then you have the Nice nails Johnny Cash hurt. There's a lot of really good covers.

MJ loved this Tribute Cover by AAF so much that when he died his family asked AAF to play at his memorial... the Tribute covers several videos he made, not just Smooth Criminal, but a handful of others... there are also items that pay tribute to him like the kid doing his dance moves, the drummer with only one gloved hand, the gloved hand he is sitting in and of course the chimpanzee.

This song was pure homage. They loved MJ and MJ loved this. Around this time a lot of rock fans that possibly never knew of MJ would of discovered his music too. The original Smooth Criminal had beats and a groove that lent itself to rock music too. MJ the genius again

It was about 10 years before I found out this was a cover. It definitely made me reconsider my opinion of MJ

Yup. Ever since Beat It, MJ incorporated a lot of rock elements into his songs and shows. Heck, even hired Jennifer Batten, to play the rock guitar parts.

MJ is my ex's all time favorite artist and she always got pissed at me because I would say that AAF did this better than MJ himself. I used to tell her that she was pissed, not because I said it but, because she knew I was right.

I’m having a Mandela moment… I feel like the kid was wearing a lower face gas mask/respirator and not just a medical mask? I’m def just trippin,but it was 23 years ago.
