Michael Jackson loved this cover plus he loved Weird Al Yankovic's parodies of his songs too.

They showed Michael Jackson before they released it and he loved it!

MJ came to their live show the year this album came out and sung that song with them and told them they are only band to make that song their own style with respect.

The weird thing, the kid doing the MJ moves is wearing a facemask, people are so immune to it now you don't realize it was a tribute to MJ who always wore them.

I love the amount of Michael Easter eggs through the whole video.

Tons of Easter eggs in this for you! Here's a breakdown. 2:13 The kid is wearing a mask, like how Michael wore one later on in life. And if you notice, he's roughly the same age Michael was when they started with the Jackson 5. 2:33 the lean. This is a throwback to that. 2:54 The girl is in a high school letterman's jacket and wearing a wolf mask. Throwback to Thriller when Michael changed into the werewolf. 3:18 and 3:22 shoutout to the four dads from the TV show "King of the Hill" 3:24 to 3:35 Drummers may wear gloves to protect the senses in their hands from going numb from the drumsticks. Note that the drummer here is only wearing 1 glove on his right hand. The same hand that Michael wore his glove on. 3:40 He's sitting with a chimpanzee. The chimp is wearing a diaper, like Bubbles, Michael's chimp, did. And they're sitting in a sequined glove that Michael used to wear 3:49 The sidewalk lights up wherever they are stepping. Throwback to Billie Jean. 4:11 Straight from the extended version of the video for Black or White. Michael jumped on the car, did that, and then destroyed the car. 4:21 King of the hill guys with the Thriller moves. 4:25 Michael always stood on that vent to have the air blow up from under him. Here you go. 4:33 to 4:49 More throwback to Billie Jean. Everything Michael touched lit up. 5:14 Notice how the singer is pulling up his pants to show his socks. Michael always wore shorter pants to highlight the white sequined socks he wore to go along with the sequined glove. Throwback to Billie Jean there. 5:29Throwback to the end of Thriller, when Michael turned back toward the camera and had the werewolf eyes. Also, the tattoo on the guy's back? That's Liz Taylor, who Michael had a very good friendship with. Also, that guy happens to be Flea, the bassist from the band Red Hot Chili Peppers.

This band kills it. They have so many good songs and never got the recognition they deserved.

They managed to incorporate the Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Black or White and Thriller videos into this plus countless MJ tributes like the kid wearing the mask and the singer sitting in "The Glove" chair with the Chimpanzee.

Michael Jackson And alien ant farm got along really well he approved everything that they did and they were actually such good friends and he enjoyed their version so much that these guys actually played on his tribute concert and played several songs of his after he passed away for the concert. I'm the drummer's mother and yes I am partial, but it's so evident by everyone's reaction, I ask myself , how is it possible for them to be so underrated and unnoticed for so long? These boys are musicians. their live shows are amazing, why they have a big following especially in Europe. They're so creative and talented, I promise you I don't care what genre of music or artist you listen to, whether it be Michael Jackson all the way down to Sade I promise you, there is going to be 1 or more songs you like. They are not mainstream, They're so creative and humble & the definition of perseverance especially after the bus crash in Spain. They had just played Jay Leno after 9/11 they were promoting anthology. They're all lucky to be alive. Took them many years to recover Dryden was inches from being like Christopher Reeve and in fear of never being able to sing again. With that coupled with less or no promoting & airplay you basically don't exist hence why you never heard of. There are so many talented bands that have slipped through the cracks as a result of the industry only giving airplay to the mainstream therefore deciding for us what to listen to. I don't care how bad a song is, played enough, 2 things will happen , either it's irritating or you love it & their banking on the latter. So much more, if you get a chance, pull up the video "These days" Fromthe BET Awards what's funny is my son used to play with Snoop Dogg we lived next door to one another ,their paths have yet to cross. They are TRUE fans of Michael Jackson and if you watch this video from the VERY beginning to the end they put in a ton of EASTER EGGS for people to find. It takes watching it more than once to find them ALL but they paid great homage to MJ and even I believe it was The Family Guy! Watch it again and see if you can find ALL of the tributes to MJ in this video which is one reason why MJ not only approved of the video but also was involved in the production of it!!

Michael Jackson had personal approval over people who wanted to cover his music (or do parodies, like Weird Al). Alien Ant Farm went to Jackson personally to convince him to approve this cover, and according to Jackson's people, they literally played only the first three to five seconds of the song before Jackson stopped them and said, "This is going to be amazing!" And he loved the finished song.

All the little bits: the chimp, the walking on the multicolored square, the jumping on top of the car, the steam blowing up, the guys turning left and right with their hands as claws - all taken from MJ's music videos.

The silver glove as the chair, thriller references, michael's pet monkey, the car exploding, billy jean style shots with the split screen and sidewalk, the steam behind him, the legendary lean. Michael gave his seal of approval and legend has it showed up at one of AAF's concerts just to show his respects to their remake.

A lot of artists have said when sampling jackson 5 or michael's solo stuff, he always listened to it and would actually reach out to them if they did an exceptional job. He owns the publishing so he gets money regardless and the band/artist gets a hit record off his original music. everyone wins.

I still remember driving down the freeway, listening to the radio (106.7 KROQ) and after the song was over, the DJ came on and announced Micheal Jackson was dead. To be honest, I hadn't heard much of his music, I wouldn't even call myself a fan. But it was like hearing that a god had died. Micheal left behind one hell of a legacy and an army of people that were inspired by him.
