Duane Allman is one of the Greatest Guitar Players ever. His slide guitar work is the GREATEST EVER. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him as the Number #2 Rock Guitar player, behind only Jimi Hendrix Listen to the Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore East and you will know why. Also Listen to Derek & the Dominos Layla album with Eric Clapton and Duane Allman as the guitar players. That body of work is incredible

I'm so glad you guys are getting to the Allman Brothers. I'd argue that they're the best southern rock/blues band and their lead guitarist Duane Allman (rest in peace) was one of the best slide guitarists to ever play. If you check them out again I'd highly recommend their song "Dreams". That song is a total vibe.

This isn't my favorite song that y'all have reacted to, but it IS one of my favorite reactions because it brings out the magic in you both. Lex- The Guru. Brad- The Professor. You both approach the songs so differently but I respect both so much. Lex just wants to FEEL. She rides the wave and goes where it takes her. She's prepared to love every one of these songs. She's WANTS to believe. I love that! But Brad... Brad's a thinker. He seeks to UNDERSTAND. Because intentions matter! He wants to analyze, categorize, and assign. If I could, I'd give him an authentic card catalog for his birthday. He deserves it.

Great choice!! Allman Brothers don’t have a bad song, i encourage you to dive into their catalog. Phenomenal band: no gimmicks or wild stage antics - just a whole lot of soul mixed with great instrumentals. These guys are one of the best bands of all time.

I've just recently discovered you guys & I locked in as soon as I saw your reaction to Pink Floyd's "Great Gig In The Sky"! Lex hit the meaning right on the money. I love how you immediately jammed to Whipping Post. FYI...I had both those albums (yes, vinyl) in my teens! You both are awesome!

Stoked to see Brad diggin' on some Allman Bros. Hard to believe there aren't more people reacting to them. A rabbit hole that any musician and listener should explore, imo :) Their live shows are where it's at...and second to none 🎶

Last time I heard this I was driving thru E. Texas on my way crosscountry about 2am. Pitch black, couldn't see 12 inches past my headlights. Spooky, spooky shit. This song hits different in that environment.

These guys were just young twenty somethings when they wrote and performed this song...imagine. So so talented, Duane died in a motorcycle accident when he was twenty four.

One of the best blues/southern rock bands ever. I got many sun burns at outdoor concerts. SOULSHINE should be next by them. Lex you will LOVE it. Blues and soul meets southern rock.

Greg Allman had a great voice for bluesy Southern rock, and with Duane and the rest they were GREAT! I saw them live more times than my old memory could ever begin to remember. I really love “One Way Out” ... but not only because it's a great song but it almost exactly tells the story of what happened to one of my best friends. "Ain't but one way out baby, Lord I just can't go out the door/Ain't but one way out baby, and Lord I just can't go out the door/'Cause there's a man down there, might be your man I don't know/Lord you got me trapped a woman, up on the second floor/If I get by this time I won't be trapped no more/So raise your window baby, I can ease out soft and slow."

Love that you guys finally did this song. Maybe farther down the line you could check out the 22 minute version of this, Live at the Filmore. One of the most epic live performances ever.

Love watching Youngsters hearing the Allman Brothers Band for the first time especially when they pick Whipping Post, southern rock at its best. You need to listen to Midnight Rider which is on the front of the album cover you used as a thumbnail. You might want to check out the video of their whole concert, Live at the Fillmore East. Other songs for you to check out are One Way Out, and Melissa!
