Plenty of Bands that still play live and loud all over the world, without all the fancy effects and auto tune, just talented musicians trying to make a living or just following their passion. They play in pubs and clubs and the lucky ones might get some support gigs for bigger bands, but guess what, no one goes out to support these bands, instead they just moan that they don't exist anymore and nothing will ever be as good again. The reason all the Rappers and the pop stars that use autotune and cant play an instrument are so popular is because people are voting for them with their wallets. If people want to hear some great rock music, find a local band or a band that is touring in your area and go out and support them, subscribe to their youtube channel, buy a CD, listen to them on spotify. To you Sabbath were the best thing ever, to your parents and grandparents generation they were just a bunch of long haired hooligans making a racket. There are great bands out there, they just arent as easy to find. Also I don't see anything wrong with overdubs, add ons or backing tracks as long as they serve the song and are used tastefully. But you are entitled to your opinion and that's fair enough, and I'm not attacking you personally, its just I've seen this comment so many times on so many videos. Rock still live, it just lives in the shadows, here it belongs in my opinion, as soon as the record company executives get hold of it they always fuc% it up anyway.

@@concept226 I also agree with you on record companies fucking up anything worthwhile because I know without a doubt if a group like steely dan or pink Floyd came out with their music today, the record execs would never release it. Back then some labels had artsy types heading the company and they backed bands with $ and let them play their style of music. That's why so many bands had that unique sound. It's all generic today like in sports,there is parity. Which is a nice word for mediocrity. Without innovative producers,engineers and record execs with a real ear for music you get what you have today. I think the best performer/writer/musician is Chris Stapleton. He's the real deal.

I think it might have California Jam, but I saw Sabbath on TV back in the 70's. Geezer's hands were so fast on that bass playing Paranoid, the film couldn't keep up. His hands were a flesh blur in front of the instrument.

I remember when there were four pillars considered as the creators of the blueprint for hard rock. The three you mention, but also Uriah Heep. The solid wall of sound from Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, the mix of heavy and light from Led Zeppelin and Uriah Heep. I actually find it rather sad that Heep's been forgotten. The David Byron era was phenomenal.

I wouldn't put zeppelin or deep purple in the same category as sabbath. They were rock bands, with zeppelin being a bit folky, sabbath was quite different.

My first live concert was Journey Providence 1977, so right behind ya :) Sabbath in 80 at Civic Center

I saw them in the 80's with Gillan and then in the 90's with Tony Martin.(actually really liked Headless Cross). The last saw them in 98 when they did the ozzfest at MK Bowl. Got so drunk I got my nipple pierced. Still have it 25 years later.

First time I saw them was on the 1975 tour also. Greensboro, NC. I still have my ticket stub. They were $5.50 a piece. Man those were the good ole days.
