Yay!!! Someone is finally doing Boz Scaggs!!! He is so smooth!

I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating - back in the day this was one of the albums that EVERYONE had. It was such a great album to have playing during parties too; peppy songs like this and a few really slow sensual songs too. Fantastic album from start to finish.

Boz Scaggs is a great artist and I am glad also that Jay is doing his music. Because it let the younger people know about this music from the 70's.

Boz Scaggs is the definition of blue eyed soul, dont stop with this song this is a very small piece of his amazing voice. Also try some Dan Fogelberg.

Booker T. & the M.G.'s formed as the house band of Stax Records, providing backing music for numerous singers, including Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding. Booker T. The entire Silk Degrees album is phenomenal, every song is fantastic! Love me some Boz, saw him in concert two years ago, dude’s in his 70’s sounds exactly the same, band was tight!! And to top it off, it was a free concert at a park!!!🙌🏽🎸❤️

The songs on the Boz Scagg's album SILK DEGREES helped to get me through law school. I played it every day when I got home from classes just to unwind. His song Love Look What You've Done to Me is a must listen!

I love how he got his name. Case of mistaken identity. Some kid called him Bosley. He was called Bosworth , Bosman and so forth. After awhile it turned into Boz.

U need to do more of Bozz Scaggs. Especially LIVE versions! You'll be really glad u did!💜👍

William Royce Scaggs, stage name Boz had limited chart success in UK. Four singles charted, "Lowdown" in 1976 made 28 and was in the chart just four weeks but it was big in the club scene. "What can I say" was his biggest UK hit reaching number 10 in early 1977 it remained in the chzrt for 10 weeks.

Most of the Silk Degrees album is excellent, but a favorite of mine besides "Lido Shuffle" is "Georgia". A couple years later, he did "Jojo", another great one. That one has a music video too.

This takes me so far back. I was just starting my teen years. Playing babe ruth baseball, trying to figure out girls lol and trying to cope with the passing of my father. Funny how music can bring back the sights, sounds, feelings of various times of your life. Sigh.

I was sitting outside today,weather was good for July,listening to the radio. Yes some of us old timers still do that,this song came on,took me back to the days of my youth. Things always seemed better then,shit my parents were right all along .

The instruments are largely provided by the guys from TOTO. This album is what got them their record contract. It was co-written by David Paich who wrote and sang lead on "Africa."

"Breakdown Dead Ahead" is another great song. Steve Lukather of Toto lays down a killer guitar solo on that track.

This song and this album never get old. I listened it to back in the late 70s, and I listened to it on your vid. What, the 5000th time I listened to Lido Shuffle and still feel like you do, listening to it for the first time. Randomly pick any song on the Silk Degrees album to review. Lido is the best but the rest all hold up. This was an album that you had to buy another copy because at house parties the needle jumped so much from everyone dancing around. You would put on Lido to get the party turned up to 10. And then went to KMart the next day to get another copy :)

This song was on the radio at the same time as Tavares, 'It Only Takes a Minute'. I alway think of it. Boz was a member of the Steve Miller Band in 1968 and I think 'Gangster of Love' was their hit..You could do a whole day of Steve Miller Band!

Surprisingly simple song -- it's just two verses: verse - chorus - verse - chorus - repeat chorus. It's all about the arrangement and the production. A lot of songs will perform the verses exactly the same way each time through. With this song he goes to a higher key in the second verse and they pump up the sound with synths, harmonies and more percussion that wasn't in the first verse, and the tempo picks up. They basically boost the energy at every transition between verse and chorus. It's clever and effective the way it builds from beginning to end.

Ahhhhhh sweet memories, dropping quarters in the jukebox and pool table . I can always count on you for bringing a smile to my face.

I agree that this was one of the classic dance disks. It is almost as danceable as The Who and Elton John's Pinball Wizard from the musical Tommy recording.
