This is actually the first song I ever heard or saw Dimash do, not SOS. Within a half hour I had replayed it four times and within two hours all my family knew about him. Me, woman, 58, 2 sons only little younger to Dimash, about Dimash: being a dear I am very proud of Dimash, nearly as if he was another son of mine. He is an extremely well educated and well behaved, respectful son of extremely loving parents. He is a very bright head, has an open mind and common sense, he is extremely disciplined and passionate, he is a genius when it comes to vocals and composition and therefore he is extremely attractive, captivating and yes, even sensual and sexy at times. I adore his artistry which is unique. Never in my life have I been a real fan of anybody. I had to get that "grown up" to come across a person who is worth all my heartfelt passion. And he definitely is! His concerts are levitating experiences, far more than listening to an outstanding voice and watching him dominate the stage. Rather some kind of spiritual experience. I think you misinterpreted his mischief in this performance. That was sexy, granted, but I bet that was not his intention. Nowadays he is sexy because of his strong aura, his artistry, his skills, excellence, finesse, the eloquence of his hands (you have to watch his hands in a performance like "Love us like a dream"! OmG!) and yes, because he is extremely handsome. But that's just the cherry on top. He matured a lot, in personality as well as in vocals. You talked about his stage presence. Well, it may be a bit early but you' ll come across "The Story of one Sky" for sure. This the best and definitely most versatile piece of music EVER. A masterpiece, unmatched! First watch the music video for the story behind it. But then you MUST watch the live version from Almaty Stranger concert (part 3, on his KZfaq channel, from minute 25) That performance is the very climax of a human being's stage presence. I experienced this live in Antalya, Turkey, equally breathtaking but no video in adequate quality is available on KZfaq. I fllew in from Germany just for the dears' party and concert. I poured out in floods of tears because of the depth of the lyrics and the utmost beauty of both the composition and Dimash's otherworldly vocals. He is a prodigy for sure! Dimash was invited to participate as the first foreigner and the youngest in the history of the show. The others were 12-39 yrs. his senior, Dimash was only 22 yrs. old. No one knew who Dimash was or what he even looked like, except the executive producers, the orchestra, and background vocalists, until he appeared on stage to sing. They considered him a dark horse and did not think he would last past the second round. He won 2nd, place and really should have won first, but they had to save face and a beloved and popular, older singer won first place. Please, from this show he sings The Show Must Go On, Autumn Strong, Adagio, All BY Myself, Unforgettable Day ( a song he wrote at 19) Daybreak ( he was ill when he blew this one out of the water, and Confessa/ Diva Dance. Opera2 was the second performance of The Singer competition in 2017 in China. The song is in Russian. A language he also speaks fluently. The original was from the famous Russian singer named Vitas. The song is very famous and popular in China. The audience already knew what to expect, but were very surprised when Dimash raised the pitch three times. Vitas but only once. The man who raises his fist in the air at the end is Dimash’s father. He came from Kazakhstan to support his son. However, Dimash knew nothing about it when he performed. I think it was very difficult for him at the beginning. You have to imagine, until this competition in China in 2017 he never was alone. Dimash, like many other Kazakhs, has the tradition of living under one roof with the whole family all together. He lives with his grandparents, parents, a sister, a brother an other relatives in the same house. And now he had to go to China alone, didn‘t know the country, didn‘t know the language, didn‘t know the traditions or livestyle in this country and up to that point he spoke (almost) no English, except maybe „Thank you“ and „My name is Dimash“. Only one interpreter came along and that at the age of 22. He was almost a kid to me then (my son is 20 so I can imagine…). And after that performance he saw his dad. So beautiful and emotional. BTW the audience is also the jury. And yes, he’s incredibly handsome🥰. During the Opera 2 performance, he flirted with the audience in a way that wasn’t really his habit at the time (fortunately that has changed in the meantime). And afterwards he said that he was really uncomfortable that his father saw him like that🤭. Luckily he didn’t find out until afterwards because I love it when he’s like that on stage🥰. I love this video because he still seemed so innocent. Just a boy and he didn't seem as serious as he sometimes is these days. He still looked carefree. In my opinion, however, it loses at bit of its impression, if you don’t know why he sings, the way he sings. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles. It’s really important to know what the song is about. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there and many friendships still exist today. After the performance he lost his voice again. It’s unbelievable how he always manages to convey emotions to such a degree. Though I think in this one particular version the emotions he shows are mostly concern about his voice keeping up with the song and the pain he must have been in doing it. The Bastau version (no sore throat) of Daybreak is phenomenal and mind-blowing. So emotional and heartbreaking. Maybe you can do both together. Many reactors do and so you can see the difference between this two performances. In both versions I always cry my eyes out. I don’t know why I have to cry more. Because of the story or the fact, that he was in such pain and performed anyway because he didn’t want to disappoint the audience. Both version were in the same year 2017. Well Dimash melts women for sure. He is so humble and sweet off stage but on stage he is a beast. You know, you can watch many of his concerts on his You Tube channel. Some reactors will do the entire concert a few songs at a time and boy does he own the stage. One example is Know from Kiev. He does not sing one lyric yet the crowd is totally mesmerized by his voice.

It was out of character for Dimash to be that cheeky and flirty at that time. This is the first performance after he became an overnight mega-star. I suspect his first several weeks of screaming women everywhere he went, had an impact on his self confidance. AKA confidence that the women would melt with a bit of cheekiness which of course they do, everywhere he goes.😉🤩 What I really like about Opera 2 is that he smoothed out the high notes to sound more like a real wind compared to Vitas ( uses staccato ) Raising the bar by a half octave each time was really fun.🥰🥰🇨🇦

You should really watch ALL of Dimash's performances on this I am a Singer show 2017, because you can really see his progression over the season. In his first song, SOS, nobody had any idea who he was and he was very nervous. By the end of the season, he practically owns ALL of China.
