Sometimes an autotune can be used not to correct a note but for to add a desired effect melodic.

Ha you got fooled. Its not auto tune it's Dimash doing his own vocal version of it. It's always in this song wherever he performs it. He used to do his fake autotune a lot in his younger days but people kept saying he was using actual auto tune so he stopped doing it. Dimash is that good he can imitate these things 😅

Dimash is one of his kind and his kind is just him. This concert has many surprises to discover … let’s continue reacting to Bastau, which was his first ever big solo concert, his dream. He had barely rested and slept, so he had lost a good amount of weight. He was too skinny, especially without makeup, and looked too exhausted but so determined to give his fans and his countrymen the best concert. At that time he didn't even know how to dance. But especially for the concert he was learning to dance day and night. He said that he eats well, so I believe this is about his nervous condition. Now he has learned not to be too nervous and be more relaxed before the concert, to take a break now and again and have fun. And also he is more experienced in dancing while singing without getting tired too much. His concerts and performances now and then are unmatched, ❤️🎤🔝🔝🌹🌹👏👏👏👏👏

Отличная реакция на Димаша! Хочу присоединиться ко всем комментаторам, которые говорят, что Димаш поёт так как он сам этого захочет! Думаю, что вы уже поняли, что Димаш ВСЕГДА ПОЕТ ВЖИВУЮ! ЖИВЫМ ЗВУКОМ! Он никогда не использует автотюн, и другие ухищрения. Я понимаю, что люди, которые впервые слушают Димаша, обычно не верят, что человек может так классно петь. Но ведь, это ВЕЛИКИЙ ДИМАШ!!!! Если хотите убедиться, то послушайте видео, где он подростком поёт эту же песню, другие песни. И, да, моя одна из любимых песен - Я люблю только тебя.

I only love you is 100% auto tune at the end. lol You can analyze soundwave patterns. When ever you see patterns that look like steps (like steps you walk on) than it is auto tune. Often its done for effect purposes not because capability. The part they talk about here is the same. It doesnt mean the whole song is auto tune, it doesnt mean he cant sing and also there are parts of the song here at the very end way more difficult that isnt auto tune. I work in that industry.

Unlike other singers who rely mostly on auto tunes, Dimash is that good that he sound like using auto tunes. I hope he keep doing it because it is heavenly.

Come on! It's an effect that can be heard AND seen with the right equipment. He has ONLY used it for a few songs, I can think of 3: this one, the recording of I only love you, and the very beginning of Screaming in Beijing. Mind you, he did NOT use it for any of the crazy runs for that song, only a small effect in the very easy beginnibng. I guess that's what the Chinese audience likes so he said ok. But that's it. It's a "modern effect", he's never used it to be in tune. There's no need to "defend" him, he hasn't done anything wrong 😂

It's an added effect for this song in particular and is designed for it. You can hear it each time he sings this song. There are several videos from years ago and it always has the effect added to those notes only.

Not Autotune. Lol. This is Dimash and his playing with the microphone. He likes to do it with this particular song mostly. I used to get mad when people accused him of lip synching or using autotune. Now I just laugh. He’s just that good that even experts cant tell. Talk to Erlan his sound guy. He’ll tell you. Thanks for posting and your reactions.

@@deviprasad_bal Most singers today use it because they need to so they sound in pitch. Its considered a crutch. However, in this particular case, if Dimash used it it wouldnt be for that purpose because he doesnt need to. Generally he doesn’t use it. It would go against his own ethic about his stance on being of quality. He works hard to master his craft. But, apparently people are always looking to catch him being not so quality and try to tear him down from his height of admiration.

I don't think it is the mic. You can hear it. I think it is a stylistic choice. The bad autotune is the one you can't catch because it means they are hiding the singer's inability to sing. (Not the case of Dimash, he is super talented). There are tools producers use that regular fans can't catch them. Detectable only in some parts with some phrases or letters. Pay attention to some of your faves and you might hear it. Here Dimash used it, it is an old song and autotune was added for style. It is just that uuu part so who cares.

@@deviprasad_bal I tried to use the software, for a friend some time ago and she sounded good in some parts but in others it was funny, she sounded like a robot and the vibrato disappeared. I tried to correct it and more distortion, I didn't have a copy of the file, well, the glorious days of no tutorials online. We were trying to make her a demo and we didn't have the 5k they charged. Little to say she's still trying to make it.

@@Lupita311 I think in this song you are probably right. Its all speculative . I agree Dimash does not need it. Other “artist” who are manufactured and rely on audio crutches do and they use them without pause. I just get sick and tired of the scrutiny of Dimash who is a highly skilled and trained singer. Especially by know it all wanna be’s or never was’s. People with little to no cultural background in classical singing ...or world singing. Like the eastern cultures. Dimash is under the microscope believe me. Composers like Igor or other high experts aren’t going to waste their time with auto tuned lip syncers who can’t get by without it. If he is forced to lip sync at a certain venue....its the exception not the rule. Auto tune can be used creatively which is fine. Dimash is the real deal. Just chill everybody and enjoy the gifts he brings to this world. Thanks for your gracious and intelligent reply.

I'm pretty sure that's not auto tune you guys. He's able to do things with his voice that the average person can't. If I'm not mistaken, this is a song his godfather, Lupkan, wrote for him and he used to sing it all the time in his early career. I've seen him sing it in much smaller venues and in very informal settings.

He is using autotune in that section for effect. It's no secret. Autotune can be used in live settings and can be turned on and off at will by the sound engineer.

@@michaelbradley7529 I think he used it for the Diva Dance in Bastau, where he did that crazy run from the higher pitch to lower pitch. It made it sound even cooler. I think it was like to show respect to the original movie version with the alien.

@@tuijakarttunen9164 Respectfully you're doing a lot of thinking and not knowing. There was no autotune in the Diva dance at Bastau. Autotune does not glide smoothly thru different pitches, it's one of the things that give it away. If you were to see autotune on pitch monitoring software, the graph would show it looking like stair steps (sudden snaps to the next note).

My guess would be reverb (which is the typical setup for any live show) as I didn't hear any delay on that particular performance. There is a difference between vocal agility and the introduction of autotune. People in the music recording industry can pick up on it right away as was demonstrated in this video.

We agree that we like him to sing pop songs as well. However, if he were to sing only one shima pop song, no matter how good his voice is, he would be just one of many." that's why we love him, because he's not a dozen, He's completely different... and not just because of the high notes,, because of the style, because each of his songs is different, each one is exciting,, he never performs it twice the same way, etc,I could list. When other pop musicians,i watch singers, they are good too, but i never want to listen to them e.g. every 2-3 days, because i would get pretty much the same thing, while dimasht i like to listen to it at any time,, there is always something new in every performance. Now, for example, we are very excited about the Almaty concert in September, because they said that what he has been doing so far has only been a warm-up,,

Other Dears may correct me on this, but I belive Dimash can actually mimic an electronic sound that sounds very much like autotune. He does it often in this song and you can find it in older version too. It's like a party trick he can do. I don't think it really matters but a lot of people find it important to distinguise between "real" autotune and fake. I guess it's up to everyone to think what ever they want. It's a cool song either way. Love your team ups and hope to see more funny/interesting things from you both.

@@dktk540 I don’t disagree with you. During the same era when I was attending Celine concerts, I worked with a very vocal group of French Canadians who could not stand the mention of Céline’s name. Many of my French colleagues claimed that she had “sold out” by “catering to an English audience “. I became very cautious in my praise because- according to my colleagues- I was part of the reason she was a “sell out “. Never changed my respect for her and her vocals, but my caution when speaking of her has remained. Thank you for pointing it out.

Hi guys, if I fully understand your comment, I would like to stress that Dimash has extraordinary songs in his repertoire without "vocal acrobatics" or crazy stuff: Omir Oter (one of the most powerful song I have ever heard), Amanat (a very, very sweet song), Samaltau (as Omir Oter, a very powerful song), Qairan Elim (gorgeous), Marigold (very moving song, performed in Kiev, with his mother in the crowd), The meaning of eternity (a piece of art), or his last one Okay. This is why he is an absolute genius: he does not perform for the show but because he wants to explore different genres, to convey different messages, to share different emotions. He is not limited to his insane vocal range, he is an incredible artist. Thanks for your reactions, I really appreciate them: full of admiration for him but also very funny!

So you'd be surprised to know that he's not using autotune? He's not. He showed once how he gets this effect using his voice. The man is just that good. Like I always say, Dimash IS music in human form. And he doesn't have to take his voice into the stratosphere on every song. It depends on the song and what he feels about it. Besides he has nothing to prove. We all know what he's capable of and that he is at a level all his own.

I don't know if its autotune, but definitely they added an electronic tone to that specific note. And he looks so happy after that first phrase of the song, cause it's the first song in Bastau concert, which was his first big concert ever. 40,000 people.
