Widely considered to be one of the most important and influential records of all time. This was basically the birth of Electronic Dance Music. House Music, Techno, Rave, Italo, Hi-NRG, Synthpop, and EDM owe everything to this collision of worlds.

The thing is it doesn't sound like a pioneering record, it sounds like the crowning achievement of a genre that had been growing and evolving for decades! If you didn't know your music history when would you place this? Mid 90s? The track is practically Trance, 20 years before it was even "invented". It's a nearly FIFTY year old track, and it's not aged a day. Incredible.

This was year 1977. In popular music, maybe. There was great synth use, by the likes of Wendy Carlos, Ron Grainer and Delia Derbyshire, Suzanne Ciani, Isao Tomita, Jean Jacques Perrey, Kraftwerk, Silver Apples, Herbie Hancock, Jean-Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze, and some '60's rockers, from The Who, Pink Floyd, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Yes. Giorgio Moroder did break some ground, for sure. He won the Academy Award for "Chase", from Midnight Express, and he has many other hits.

The Queen of Disco - try “Last Dance”. By the way, you won’t be complaining about the songs being too short - many versions are 12-15 minutes long to play in the dance clubs. Finally! Someone is reacting to Donna Summer - the undisputed Queen Of Disco! Other than the Bee Gees, no other artist sold more Disco records. The music was provided by Georgio Moroder who was at the forefront of synthesized music in the 70's. He also did the motion picture soundtrack for Cat People, featuring David Bowie (Putting Out Fire - With Gasoline). This version is different from the one on the David Bowie album. Georgio also did the soundtrack for the movie Chase and hit the top 40 with the main title theme. You should really try her first hit called Love To Love You Baby. The album version is almost 17 minutes long! The single edit is the last three minutes of the album version. It went to #2 on the Billboard Singles Chart, & #1 on the Soul & Disco charts. You will love what's in store from Donna Summer.
