The Las Vegas live version is much more dynamic that this version. You really need to watch that one to see why every Las Vegas show during his residencies sold out. It shows his humor and remarkable energy. I saw Elvis twice in concerts in the 1970s. He could be hilarious on stage.

Elvis's favorite music was Gospel music, check out "How Great Thou Art" from the movie "Elvis On Tour" 1972, he loved to create a moment on stage with his band and back up singers, even though the song was not on the set list, to stop your show and do a Gospel song only Elvis could do it.

Then your husband was racist and never researched Elvis, if he did he would have found out. Elvis came from extreme poverty and was born in a ghetto on the wrong side of the tracks in a place called Tupelo Mississippi. I am surprised you never tried to teach that racist man the truth about Elvis?

@@rong805 Unsure I have some coloured friends who all their lives was told Elvis was racist. I showed them a documentary called Elvis and the black community the echo will never fail. They watched it and were surprised, that Elvis was not racist and was actually brought up in a black ghetto in Tupelo Mississippi. So many coloured people seem to think Elvis was racist and still believe he is racist. Unsure how you change their minds they also state Elvis stole black music. Elvis never stole black music he took gospel the blues and country and incorporated it into one style. That the racist white establishment of the 50s called Rock 'N'Roll, Elvis stated he never invented Rock 'N'Roll. Elvis stated it was out before he was even born and never considered himself the king of Rock 'N'Roll. To Elvis the king of Rock 'N'Roll was Fats Domino it's a shame her husband never gave Elvis a chance. But that's the way it goes a lot of people just go by hearsay never check out to see if the information is correct or false.
@rong805
@rong805 6 ай бұрын
@user-dr2yc1de9e Agreed on every point! I'm just glad to see the BS finally be more exposed and kind of put to rest. You never really shake the racial stigma, unfortunately, but the info is there to dispute for everyone to see! The ignorant will keep believing it, so who cares about them anyway! Doesn't really matter because it's pretty much common knowledge that Elvis is known as the big dog in music, and entertainment in general. The first real worldwide superstar in the TV era.

I think one of the best songs of his to react to is ‘If I Can Dream’, you’ll come away with tears in your eyes…some of his gospel music also. My grandson’s are 15 & 18, I’ve had them listening to a variety of music since they were toddlers. Everything from Glenn Miller, Cab Calloway to Elvis & Johnny Cash. Neither one are real big on rap or hip hop, although the 18 yr old likes heavy metal & country.

I subscribed because of ur review of Elvis. I’m 83 and at 11 yrs. old had to go to a different neighborhood miles away to find Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, and Howlin’ Wolf ,etc. In IN. Then comes Elvis singing black music. That is the real reason he was so criticized. I wish u could have seen him in 1956 and 57. There was such pandemonium u could not hear one word he sang. Women would jump off the balcony to try and get to him. This particular time was at Chicago stadium in 57. He was unbelievably charismatic!!! I was there in the south in 57 when riots broke out. In Florida, Sheriff’s were in the first row waiting to arrest him if he moved. Those really were the days! However, Muddy Waters, MJ, Belafonte and Judy Garland come in a close second, when it comes to live performances. Keep up the good work. Glad you are here!

I just subscribed to your channel. As an older white female I grew up in Memphis (which is where Elvis was from) and was privileged to go to one of his concerts. I don't know if you have been told this or not but Elvis recorded over 700 songs and has sold over a billion records. This particular reaction was a benefit for the cancer society which raised over $65,000 which in todays world would be approximately $450,000. This was also the first concert was seen world wide via satellite and was seen in over 60 countries and had more views the the moon landing. There was so much good music in the 50's, 60's and 70's where there was no auto tune and all of that bullcrap when entertainers really had to sing. You can't go wrong with any of it. Elvis recorded all types of music, rock n roll, gospel, country, etc. and I don't think you will find anyone with a better voice or a better entertainer.

She got to see him in concert in Detroit back in the 60's/70's. She didn't believe me when I told her that he died. One of his back up singers, The Sweet Inspirations, is Whitney Houston's Mom. Elvis Presley, he's got Moves......he had such a beautiful smile. His Twin brother Was still born, he lived in Poverty in Mississippi......his Grandson died young, his Daughter Lisa died recently, very sad.....he had a good heart, I felt sad that he wasn't able to get out like everyone else...... people would mob him. That's no way to live. Just my opinion.

Also all the scarves that Elvis wears around his neck all the time are there for him to wipe the sweat off and throw to the women in the audience 😊❤

I'm 57 from South Bend Indiana. You caught me attention keep going. Don't give up. It's great to see young people discover history. I think that's part of the problem in this country. We don't understand the true history. Not made up news history. Anyway keep going i'm with you

I would also suggest If I Can Dream (ode to Martin Luther King Jr), In The Ghetto (his family was so poor that when they moved to the projects in Memphis it was a step up), Elvis and The Black Community parts 1 & 2 (dispels all the rumors of him being racist). He was a civil rights advocate at a time that it could have cost his career. Also if you have not seen the movie Elvis please do (and on a side note f**k his manager Colonel Parker). I am an old head and a new subscriber who is enjoying your channel (FYI I saw him in concert when I was 8)

I grew up listening to Elvis. He was my love in music. Still today, i love to listen to him. His gospel music is amazing. I was a teenager when he died. It just did not seem true - he was too young. He loved his fans. He was a joker and his laughter was contagious.

Elvis Presley's "IF I CAN DREAM" kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q5Ogg8KVqMvSenU.htmlsi=8lL-UbDFgk7A_ycx From his 68 Comeback Special, was Elvis's Heartfelt and Powerful Tribute to Dr Martin Luther King Jr, after his Assasination in Memphis Tennessee where Elvis Lived. It is Based on the message of MLK's "I Have A Dream" Speech, and was written for him with this in mind. It also honored the Memory of Robert F Kennedy, who was also Assasinated during the same time period. This was a Turbulent Time in America, 🇺🇸 with the Civil Rights Movement, Protests and Riots against Vietnam War and it seemed as if the Country was being torn apart and Elvis wanted to bring a Message of Hope and Unity to the Nation. "If I Can Dream" is at it's heart, a Civil Rights Song.

The ‘68 comeback where he’s wearing a black leather outfit is one of the best live performances in my opinion 💜👵🏼✌🏼🌻

I love this reaction! I want to try and add to what some are saying here in the comments. Live Elvis is great! His studio recordings are usually way different. So, one thing I think you should keep in mind when choosing Elvis songs: the studio recordings showcase his voice. The live recordings showcase his charisma, his dance moves and his all encompassing stage presence and his ability to perform on the fly and keep you engaged. I never will say one is better than the other. They are all Elvis, therefore they are all great. You can react to suspicious minds live in Vegas 1970, and his studio recording after this one and catch something new in each one

I would advise if anybody says you need to watch the movie that came out last year with Austin Butler who did an awesome job, don't watch the movie until you watch a lot more of Elvis himself... I say this only because then you will see how good of a job is Austin Butler did in the movie because you'll have Elvis's real work to compare him to....❤
