The best foursome on the planet, in my opinion. They all sing lead, & they are all great soloists & each post many songs on YT. Last names first in S. Korea..... Ko WooRim bass profundo, classically trained. Kang HungHo tenor/soprano, self taught. Cho Mingyu leggerio tenor, classically trained, group's leader Bae DooHoon tenor/baritone, musical actor. WooRim is doing his mandatory military service now, so they also post as a trio for the time being.

You definitely can’t go wrong with Forestella, their arrangements are incredible! The bass, Woorim Ko is currently serving mandatory military service for 18 months, he is classically trained as is one other member. I am sure there are many others who know so much more than I about Forestella, but they are absolutely my favorite group, hands down and this is my favorite version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Thank you for your reaction! This is Forestella, a crossover group from Korea. They are the winner group in the Phantom Singer 2; an audition show to form a crossover quartet like il Divo from Korea. However, as they have their own unique style, they won't be Korean il Divo, they will be the Forestella of the world! Forestella has sung great covers like Bohemian Rhapsody, We are the Champions, Hijo de la Luna, Heal the World, the Sound of Silence, My Favorite Things, Champions (mash-up of Champs league theme and Champions by Jo SuMi), Nella Fantasia, Scarborough Fair..etc etc. At the Phantom Singer All Stars they sang Time in a bottle, Je suis Malade as well. Shape of You in English, Spanish and African Zulu is fantastic indeed. You can even see them dancing singing Smooth Criminal as well! If you are a LOL fan, check their Warriors and Legends Never Die! And they broke the record of their own with EXO's MAMA winning 6 trophies for King of Kings in a row in Immortal Songs. Check their magnificent performances of Bad Romance and Lazenca Save us, Unwritten Legend and Despacito too. Forestella is a quartet of Ko WooRim (a classical bass, intense abyss-deep low tone), Kang HyungHo (an ex-research chemist, rock vocalist with soprano head voice falsetto), Cho MinGyu (a classical leggiero tenor, light boyish crystal clear tone) and Bae DooHoon (a musical actor, 159th King of the Masked Singers, emotion convincer good at R&B, Pop). Each has distinct tone and style of singing, different charm. But all of them are famous as practice-freaks. They meet almost everyday to practice together. In a radio program the leader (Cho MinGyu) revealed it would be around 20 days they didn't meet in the year. Bae DooHoon also said they don't meet 1~2 days in a month. I think this explains how their perfection can be possible. Don't miss their m/v for Save our lives! It's full of wonders. Each of them is representing an element in the m/v. They sang Fake Love of BTS and their song Save our lives at MAMA. Their majestic original song Utopia is a must check. Now I see they are creating a genre called Forestella. They showed "What crossover is" with Save our lives and showing "What Forestella does" with Utopia! Enjoy their diversity with their original song White Night too. Forestella released their single KOOL in Kpop style to fulfill their promise of Kpop cover dance for exceeding 990K views of Save our lives m/v. They struggled to choose a Kpop to dance, became to think making their own Kpop song with dance! As crossover works for all genres, Forestella did a great job for their fans. Take a listening to Chosen One, an EPIC OST of the Sword of Aramun. Forestella released fantastic original Snow Globe m/v! Kang HyungHo composed it, and all the Forestella members contributed in arranging it. Forestella first sang their version of Bohemian Rhapsody in the KBS Immortal Songs which is a kind of remake competition music entertainment show. It made them known to the world, and later they put it in their 2nd album titled Mystique. They had concert tour under the title Mystique. This video was filmed at the Mystique encore concert, the last of the tour. I prefer their Immortal Songs video because we can see their acting in the performance there. Here it's too dark to see it well.. I recommend Forestella Queen's best songs compilation video on KBS Jeonju channel. There are 2 more Queen renditions in addition to the very first performed Bohemian Rhapsody by Forestella.

You have just been introduced to Forestella, nicknamed the “Kings of Harmonies”, winners of the Korean competition “Phantom Singer 2017”. They do have a KZfaq channel, with some of their work, but a lot of it is proprietary to KBS and other channels, so you will find it on these channels. They have dozens of covers and originals , each one better than the last; i suggest you try next “Time in a bottle”, Lazenca save us”, “Mama”, “Je suis malade”, “Shape of you”, and their originals “Save our lives”, “Utopia” and “Snow Globe”. They also did Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance”, and “Despacito. This is just a short list, once you start it is hard to stop, they are that good and as a crossover group, they cover all genres, from opera to pop to rock, and excell in all. From left to right, base, opera singer, Ko Woorim (last name first, Korean way), second, chemical engineer who always dreamt of singing in front of a large audience (and got his wish!), with the most angelic contra tenor high voice or rock, Kang Hyungho; third, leader of the group, opera singer, polyglot, genius. Cho Mingyu, and last, oldest of the group, musical actor/singer with an amazingly emotional voice, Bae Dohoon. All 4 college educated, kind, funny and amazing human beings. Hyungho is getting married next month, breaking thousand of hopeful women’s hearts, Woorim and Dohoon got married in the last 2 years. The group had to reorganize this year as Woorim had to leave to do his mandatory military service, the other three have already done it. There is plenty of wonderful information in the comments below, so I won’t repeat that. I can see you are fascinated by the basso profundo voice of their youngest member, Ko Woorim..( 29 in July)…He has a rare subtype of bass voice, which he has nurtured as a trained opera singer and after attaining his bachelor and masters degrees in voice has been self-improving to modulate and expand his vocal range to perform in different genres that he is interested in. Good examples of how Forestella showcases his voice is in the following Forestella performances: LAZENCA, SAVE US(Korea and English); LEGENDS NEVER DIE, BAD ROMANCE , Shape of You(in English, Spanish and Zulu!) , DESPACITO (spanish), L’Immensita(Italian), K-pop giant EXO’S debut song MAMA(korean and English) , Queen’s WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS…and INNER UNIVERSE(GHost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex) performed in RUSSIAN, ENGLISH AND LATIN, an Anime theme song originally by Origa and composer Yoko Kanno….find the Phantom Singer All Stars performance ..it has dancers that Forestella hired for this cover. There are others, but these will give you a taste. I look forward to seeing what your reaction will be to these suggestions of different genres on display here eg, rock, pop, reggaeton, popera, rockopera, classic. An original Forestella K-pop song and music video is KOOL(in English but choose one with English subs because it’s fast and wordy😅), which shows how versatile these 4 vocalists are who are not from the K-pop training background..the bass has a smaller role here, but nevertheless adds to the colour in this performance 😊This was a promise kept by the group which they’d made when they promised to perform a cover of a K-pop song and dance number if one of their other original music videos : the 1st of a trilogy ,SAVE OUR LIVES got to 990 000 views😂. Target was achieved and exceeded, though in the end, they released an original song with a tiny bit of choreography in a music video which has just reached 1 million views this week March 2024😅 Forestella members are not trained dancers😂 but they do pretty well really and so this was fun to watch and a lovely gift to fans.. I love the video, the music, the nostalgic concept…the pop element is very infectious as it’s reminiscent of the music that was around during a happy time in my youth.😅 Another small role for the bass, but effective and shows us what music the members enjoy too. The apple at the end is related to the 1st and the next music video in the trilogy , their original UTOPIA. To date the most choreographed dance they did was in their cover of MJ’s SMOOTH CRIMINAL … a must see monitor cam music video on their official KZfaq channel.
