It's not so much of a war protest song it's about all of the BULLSHIT THAT POLITICIANS AND CORRUPT GOVERNMENTS ARE FEEDING EVERYONE ON THIS PLANET! NO ONE OR COUNTRY IS EXEMPT FROM IT !

The opening audio clip was taken from the Paul Newman movie Cool Hand Luke. That's actor Strother Martin who plays the warden of the prison and his famous speech about "failure to communicate." Great film.

This song is a masterpiece! Just like almost any other GNR song. Breakdown, Don't Damn me, Get in the ring and Dead horse are less known, but fantastic ones, too.

I recommend you should try something of their hated Chinese Democracy album, I would suggest ”Madagascar”. To me it’s one of GnR greatest tracks.

I know I always recommend this, but Rocket Queen from Tokyo '92 is amazing. I think you'll also like Coma, Breakdown, and Locomotive (studio versions for all 3 with lyrics handy), and You Could be Mine (Tokyo '92).
