Your requests for Hallowed by thy name by Iron Maiden were heard loud and clear. I chose the lyrics video instead of the 1982 live concert version that many had wanted. My thoughts were that Alexis should immerse herself in the song and lyrics and that can be difficult to do in a live Iron Maiden performance. As she mentioned with Fear of the Dark which was the live version, it was difficult to take in all that was going on. "Up the irons!!!"

Guys, The most perfect reaction channel on KZfaq...As a 54 year old I have a friend who is a concert photographer and 2 teenage daughters that I love watching as they discover what real talent and music truly is 🤘🏻 I watched the Hear-n-aid documentary and someone asked why the Dave and Adrian even bothered turning up with the other players being there... That's when I cried and realised some people only see and hear the glory of posers.... The skill and talent that naturally runs between those two is a once in a lifetime thing... Add that with Steve's bass playing that weaves a perfect canvas for them to paint perfect sonic art upon then you realise its not all glory... Its a sound of its own that blesses your soul with it's existence 🖤🖤🤘🏻🤘🏻

That long note Bruce does goes up at the end, a massive injection of energy live. Notice how the music paces like a man paces in his cell? Also the length of the notes and sections in the song represent how time slows down when you're in a cell with your thoughts. Number of the Beast early lives are magnificent as well. I loved this album - still do. Better than majority of new music I've heard. Extreme are coming out with new music at the moment and it that type that 40+ year old would recognise.

You are both so great and it really takes me back to my youth as i see her joy of discovering metal/hard rock. I recall in 1980 in my new city and neighborhood sitting in my new friends den and he put on a record of Kiss and played Detroit Rock City then Black Sabbath War Pigs. Then Van Halen and finally Iron Maiden. I was 100% hooked and have been since. I remember going to a record store by the house (remember the incense and bongs and rolling papers and all?) and looking at all the records and i saw Iron Maidens records and was blown away. Their album artwork was the best i've ever seen still to this day. Seeing her smile brings me back to being an 11 year old and my own lifelong journey with Metal and how it's always carried me through good times and bad. Up The Irons! Btw, their lyrics and play style just sucks you right in and i'm unsure there's a better singer/frontman than Bruce. He's on par with Freddie Mercury and Bon Scott for me. Sadly he doesn't get the credit he deserves.
@jpman9795
@jpman9795 Ай бұрын
Count how many changes in this song and it will blow you away. Iron Maiden was known for having like 10 hooks in their songs, before they'd bring it back home to the first one. So many changes in tone, tempo and beats. No other band has really come close to matching that.

You just have to love it when the aulder generation passes on the torch of this great music we know as Heavy Metal. And there is no better band, In My Opinion, than Iron Maiden to showcase why Metal and Hard Rock music is a lifelong personal journey, not a passing experience that you grow out of. My youngest son has his own tastes in music but he still likes some of the stuff I listen to and will ask me fir recommendations of bands to listen to. Passing on the legacy 🤘🏻🇬🇧🖤

I like how Alexis mentions "old English" and Edgar Allen Poe. Iron Maiden made me read classic literature, because a lot of their songs are based on such material: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, The Trooper (based off a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson), Murders in the Rue Morgue (Edgar Allen Poe) and other stories/songs. I wanted to know WHY they sung about these stories, so I hu8nted down the source material (way before the internet, kids). And not only did I become an Iron Maiden fan, I fell in love with classic literature along the way. Iron Maiden opened the door for me to Poe, Shakespeare, Dante, Blake, Tennyson, Coleridge and so much more. So, don't buy into "oh, heavy metal is so low brow" comments. Heavy metal (and Iron Maiden) broadened my horizons in ways school couldn't or didn't. There are heavy metal fans....and then there are Iron Maiden fans.

They kept all the traditions, a 12 foot tall Eddie and the whole crew came out to sing, filled the stage. This is one the best songs in early metal. There's a version of this song done by many other artists. Cradle of filth does a version, machinehead does a good one but my favorite, is by a band called Solitude Aeturnus. Done in 1998, the version is punchy, and the vocals from Robert Lowe are so good. Robert went on in the 2000's to do a couple amazing Candlemass albums. Highly recommend. Really hard to find a hard copy these days.

Unleash the archers has a song called awaking that has a iron maiden-ish sound. Brittany Slayers has an amazing voice

It's why I love Brittney and UtA. My favorite song off of Apex is The Coward's Way. Second is Apex. 😊

Nicko came in on Piece of Mind album. IMO a way better drummer. No disrespect to Clive Burr.

Your supposed to introduce her to Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. Make sure you introduce her to all 3 singers Iron Maiden had and Bruce's Solo Work.

You should have played her the "live" version right after so she could react to that right away. You wouldn't have had to pause as much since she heard the song already. It would have been great to see her reaction.

You're totally right on playing the studio version first as it's fantastic and musically brilliant. You don't get distracted by seeing the live action.
