Just an amazing song that Burch heard recently for the first time while driving to work. The song has been our for 10 years or so but it was new to us. The video is amazing and tells a story of the working man's struggle. #unclelucius #country #countrymusic #workingman ‪@uncleluciusband‬

I'm not a country music fan, but I do like the fact that many tell a story and some times from real life experiences. The wolves to me are the ones you owe money to. All the expenses of life.

Not just the gov. Wolves are all the things that seem to come at you, and seems to be from all directions when things start going wrong or hard times, like a bunch of wolves or how a pack operates ect... Nice reaction 👍👍

I agree. Wolves could be a number of things. Wolves come in different sizes and colors, just like bill collectors, IRS, and the mixed emotions that comes from a hard life.

Heard this first on Yellowstone. Also Yellowstone has probably the best music out of any other show ever made.

Written by the band’s lead singer and frontman Kevin Galloway, the song recalls the story of Galloway’s dad, who was severely injured in a chemical accident on a tanker ship in the Galveston Bay, and how henceforth, the family struggled to make ends meet. In the song, the “wolves” are an allusion to all the things that pursue us, from hunger, to bill collectors, to things inside of us such as depression and sorrow, to carnal desires like addiction.

Love this song! It's been in my playlist for several years now. It's in the Texas Country / Red Dirt Country genres along with Whiskey Meyers. Cool to see you in my category of music that I listen to mostly these days. Didn't know about this genre of music till I moved to West Texas. ( FUN FACT - on Spotify, I have this year alone, listened to 79 genres of music totaling well over 50,000 minutes this year alone. Whiskey Meyers - Heart of Stone gotta check it out!

Good morning from Lake Jackson. I live 11 miles from the mouth of the Brazos River. Kevin is a low key local hero around here. For those of you who don't know, Lake Jackson/Clute/Freeport has been one of the world's largest industrial complexes since the 40's. The two largest employers in our region are Dow and the Brazosport Independent School District. Originally owned entirely by Dow, it's now parceled out to a variety of petrochem companies. Kevin's song is based on a true, personal story. But, even if it weren't his story, it's still a true story. Almost every guy I know has cycled through the plants for a time at some point in their lives, and almost every family I know has lived the events in the song at one point or another since 1942. The absolute truth to this song makes me misty eyed every time I hear it. A lot of people look down on us blue collar types, but we and our families have gone through Hell to build this country. This song is an anthem and should never be allowed to be forgotten.

The band basis itself out of Austin. The song is based on a true story about Kevin Galloway’s (the lead vocalist) father and a toxic cleanup in Galveston, Texas. His father was severely injured and only saved because the facilities in Galveston. The older couple are Kevin’s parents. Try “Taking in the View.” Fantastic lyrics and beautiful arrangements.

This band is under the genre of "Alt Country/Americana/Outlaw Country" which casts a wide net. You need to check out the Alt/Outlaw Country because that is where the new REAL country music is..singer/songwriters with lyrics that dont revolve around pickup tailgates, babes and beer - the moronic formula of pop country/mainstream country.

When I first saw the thumbnail and title, I knew the name Uncle Lucius, no idea where from though, and I suspected it would be country. Then when the song started, shocked me, but I have heard this (and liked it), again no clue where from though, because I listen to rock, classic rock, and some metal, rarely do I venture into country. I am totally confused, was this in a movie or tv show?

The song is a true story, but apparently the song was played on Yellowstone. This is what you would call Texas country or Red Dirt music. Both genres are a bit like Southern Rock from the 70s where things can sort of lean a bit towards rock or a bit towards country depending. Check out Turnpike Troubadors, Whiskey Myers, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Cody Canada and the Departed, and American Aquarium for similar sounds.
