You MUST listen to Kelly sing her song “Piece by Piece” at the American Idol finale, before the show was rebirthed. She was super pregnant and super emotional. The song is about being left by her father as a young child and the love she finally found from her husband. Sadly, they are now separated.

No. I love Reba, but her version of that song was a g.d. travesty. It’s Bobbie Gentry’s song, she ‘s the original. Once your hear her, no one else can ever do it. The imagery of a white Creole girl from New Orleans is Bobbie to a tee. Not to mention how unbelievably tacky Reba was in that video. Bobbie, on the other hand, looked like a wild, sultry panther. No, sorry, there’s a lot Miss Reba can do, but Fancy, not so much.

(When I think of you) (Control) (Rhythm Nation) (Let’s wait a while) I was a teen/young adult in the 80’s and these were the popular female artists back then: 1. Jodi Wheatley “ Looking for a new Love” 2. Pebbles 3. Stephanie Mills 4. Tina Tuner ( literally a sensation from the 1960’s until today, she’s absolutely amazing!!!! With tremendous talent and an amazing story! It was captured in the 1993 film “What’s Love Got to do with it?”

When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time she listened to this song every day. It was one of her few things she found to smile about. One of Kelly Clsrkson's early ones is one of my favorites - " The Trouble With Love". And absolutely MUST react to "Piece By Piece - live on American Idol". That one... whoo. 😭 But anything you watch of hers you'll probably really, really appreciate. She's a real one.
