Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli are the original artists for this song. It was written by David Foster and Carole Bayer Sager, Alberto Testa and Tony Renis in 1998 for the film "Quest for Camelot". 10 years later in 2008 Josh Groban joined Celine Dion for another duet of this song.

I'm always amazed at the amount of beautiful sound that comes from just these 5 voices.

I never want to say "this is the best of PTX" because so much is just that good and because just about everything they do is so astonishing. **But I cannot deny, this is PTX at the very top of its game. And while I can't say this is their best I can say there's nothing better.**

Welcome to the PTX rabbit hole. I hear your comparisons to the original artist and others versions to these songs, however, lets not over shadow the fact that PTX is 100% a cappello... harmonies, beat-boxing, and Avi Kaplan's base notes, that to me sets them far apart from even the originals. Christmas is nearing, and I must suggest "Mary Did You Know', & 'The Little Drummer Boy'. After hearing The Little Drummer Boy is when I became a REAL Pentaholic. I also feel it a 'must' to do their version of John Lennon's 'Imagine' it shows just how diverse this whole group is and also gives a very very powerful message! I really enjoy your reactions and looking forward to many more!!!!

Truly Grammy worthy!! One suggestion, if I may... When you restart after a pause, it's helpful to rewind 5 or 10 seconds to maintain continuity... Just something to think about! 🤔🙂

PTX has so many incredible (to use your word) Christmas songs. I think my favorite is “Mary Did You Know”, but I love them all. For a fun song listen to “The Grinch”. “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”, earned them a Grammy (well deserved). I’m pretty sure the song, “That’s Christmas to Me” is one of their originals. Others can correct me, if I’m wrong. These are just a few different of my suggestions.

In my opinion, this is their best song. Recommend their Rather Be, Amazing Grace, and It’s Different Now. Also, for Christmas, Carol of the Bells and I Saw Three Ships.

I saw Pentatonix in Manchester, New Hampshire USA (it's in New England so it has a lot of English town/state names--hahaha). Pentatonix sounds just as good LIVE as they do here in a recorded version of a song. It's just bonkers that all of the singing & sounds come JUST from their voices.

Mitch excels in this with the purity and clarity of his voice, the notes that he hits and holds, his runs and vibratos. Scott with his operatic precision singing in Italian. Kirstie sharp and belting. Matt so deep and warm on the bass. Kevin driving the rhythm with percussion sounds and clashing cymbals. The superb visuals. The harmonies. The PTX signature wall of sound. How did this escape the Grammys?

First time seeing this video. Yes, all of them are amazing, but I always can’t wait to hear Kevin!! His sounds are just unbelievable. It’s like the sounds he makes with his voice and the rest of him, wraps up any song with a brilliant bow and ribbon!

This outdoes the Bocelli/Dion version both for production (to be fair, they simply stood and sang) but also for vocals. Five people making as much sound as the orchestra and the singers, but also telling the story. Far more inspiring. I love Andrea Bocelli and have for years, but this version upgraded from the original. Scott is singing in Italian and Mitch is actually translating again like the original. And don’t forget they will do this live on tour. One thing especially good about PTX is they never record anything they can’t do live. I enjoyed your reaction/review.
