Originally jenny was never meant to be screaches sister but ren decided to make a origin story and decided to make them brother and sister

@@Jaggers86 I read that The Tale of Jenny and Screech was based on an article Ren read about in the paper about a teenager boy who killed a prostitute on the streets in 2005. In 2019 Ren wrote Violets Tale to add a twist to "Jenny & Screech". So, in the storyline, both Screech and Jenny were 14 years old when they first meet, having lived apart, growing up on the streets, having never knew about each other until that fateful day. Jenny grew up having traits of her mother-Violet and Screech had traits of his abusive father- Stevie.

@@TheFubz you can if you try, Shakespeare is easy to understand. If he want to understand Shakespeare, you can certainly take the easy way out by seeking out the best movie adaptations. I know it sounds ridiculous, but Mel Gibson’s Hamlet is quite good.

Yep. You said it.....25 yrs ago my ex beat the ish outta me when I was 7 months pregnant. My son was born with massive birth defects and he died at the age of 13 from kidney failure. This song is SO hard to listen to but i can't stop. It takes me right back to that 17 year relationship. Ren captures all those moments of DV right down to his body language. I'm so glad he's opened the door for discussion on this subject.

@Antonio Tejada Thank you......we pick up the pieces and try to move on. I have a hole on my Heart that can never be replaced ,no words for the pain of losing a child. But I now have a man in my life who is truly a Gift,,and 4 Beautiful grandchildren. Who knew,,at 58 yrs old lol....

Ren said in a live performance of this piece in the streets of Brighton that what he was trying to get at was that in every person there is good and bad and that the most revolutionary thing we can do is to have empathy with others no matter who they are or what their views or politics. The more you think of the trilogy the sadder and profound it gets. Its a important tale of generational trauma .Jenny's tale can only be understood by hearing her brother and mothers tale and putting the story together almost like a jigsaw puzzle. The whole thing is about the poor little 14 year old girl walking the streets of London after midnight wearing high heels and looking for escape from her horrible life. Like you I have had life experiences touched on in violets tale , I wept for a very long time after hearing it, but its done so well and it is such an important conversation to be had with the world ,that I have backed up time after time to hear it again and gain new respect for Ren every time I do .

I have watched this trilogy so many times I absolutely love it. I think one of the most genius parts is in Violet's tale and it is small but so brilliant is when he says " if I'm to die right here tonight please let my babies stay alive" having stay follow babies it hides the fact that babies is plural so you never notice until he tell you there's twins giving you less time to figure out the ending

I thought so too but after more rewatches I keep hearing "baby" every time. Some lyric site also said baby, not trying to be nitpicky it's just that I've gone back and forth on this one too :P

It's crazy that Ren has been putting out great independent music for years, both solo and with his band, The Big Push, yet we are just finding out about him. I'm so glad reactors picked this mans music up, he's another great artists to delve into. I've been writing music for 30 years, and about 3 years ago I started watching reactors. It's introduced me to a plethora of new music and artists, and even genres I didn't know I would like. You are a great reactor and I can tell who puts their heart into it, and who doesn't.

This is pure art. It’s not music, it’s theater, it’s storytelling, and Ren spills emotion out of his pores. In the end Jenny ended up just like her mom (silent) and Screech ended up just like his dad (violent), and the first time they meet the both end up dead. The Shakespeare reference is spot on and one I have heard mentioned by several reactors. He refers to himself as a bard, so he understands what we all see in him.

im glad you escaped from your own stevie nightmare. i knew a lass back when i was a young teenager, a nice lass, who hooked up and married a wrongun. he beat the living shit outa her, and left her in a wheelchair with fibromyalgia. i only found out about it on facebook a few years ago, it broke my heart and still breaks my heart. lovely reaction to this masterfull piece from ren, be well jen.

People went mad and thought it was real and reported it to KZfaq 😄 people unsubcribed and friends blocked Ren. Ren's Money Game parts 1 and 2 are awesome. I agree. I think it is beautiful that Ren can be himself. He had a video where he talks about his experiences with ill health and how he came to the realisation that what was important to him was to follow his heart in the pursuit of his art. I’m so glad he does. So many people connect with his music. I hope his treatment in Canada is successful and wish him a happy life and all the best for the future…

There is so much Ren music for you all to hear, almost every genre which has influenced him is aced, but never in superfluous manner. Ren is a story teller beyond compare, but he uses his own struggles (contracting Lyme's Disease aged 17 but then misdiagnosed until 26 as M.E. Bi-Polar & Psychosis), being misdiagnosed, mis-medicated & mistreated, self medication, self healing as he describes in Hi Ren, finding the wisdom at just 30 to understand it's a dance. Songs like Dear God, Penitence, Crucify your Culture, Money Game 1 & Money Game 2 look at wider society. Songs like Depression, Crutch, Insomnia, Diazepam, Oceans, Patience, Ready for you all talk about the misdiagnosis, the troubles which come for all in some manner & the ability to replace dashed hopes, with refined ones. He's an autodidactic scholar, a play right, film maker & story teller beyond compare, he looks at wider society and individual struggles & journeys. Ren has even taken time to tell everyone his musical influences in Love Music 1, 2, & 3. I know, this is a lot of music and it's only half of what he's done so far. Peerless... If you're a fan, you are a RENegade & a RENaissance person. Every time you post a reaction Jen, we will put it in his Discord so other fans can find your reactions. Exactly. They will say and do anything to keep you stuck with them too. I believed the lies for 7 years! After 3 years of believing the manipulation, oh he’d never do that again, or my personal favorite “I don’t know what’s come over me! I don’t do that! I love you, more than I’ve ever loved anyone before! You’re my soulmate!” But you punched me in my face! “No I didn’t!” Me with a bloody nose told a different story. After years of believing that bs, he then resorted to violent threats against me, my family, and eventually our own son. I said what I did so whomever finds themselves in that situation can see for themselves IT will NEVER get better! It will ONLY leave them more battered and broken every damn time.

OMG ADD here, too. It's a constant battle between trying to stay focused on one thing without jumping to the next shiny thing. On the days I can function like a normal person I'm often amazed. The intro to Violet's Tale is so disturbing to me. The playing and performance are stunning. When he begins singing he's looking around and he looks terrified. His eyes wide and filled with fear, it's almost childlike. And then he stands, gets his composure, and starts the tale. It's a striking and haunting way to begin. A part of me feels like it could be an illustration of him taking on these characters and the effect it might have on him, but he has to shake it off to continue the story. I'm not sure, but it's well done regardless. He's special, that's for sure.

You're a beautiful person Jen! I'm glad you were able to get out of your bad situation, it takes a very strong person to do that. I'm sorry you had to go thru it in the first place. Ren is such a gifted artist anything you check out from him is 🔥🔥🔥. A few suggestions are Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla the live version, The Hunger, Genesis, money Game part 1 & 2 and Power. Some of my favorites 😊.

As Ren said "History repeats itself" Screech became like his violent father and Jenny had the atributes of her mother a quiet soul who could not speak out even facing death. Was Patrick (Screeches best friend) with Screechs girlfriend and thats why he never answered his call for help? Who knows but Ren is an absolute genius storyteller. Thanks for your reaction .

Well Ren it does not matter how many times I watch this I am still captivated and drawn into the pain and anguish these characters must have experienced. Just Jen your genuine reaction is indicative of what I believe is Ren's expectation going into the making his music videos. Make us more aware of ourselves our environment the people around us. I get frustrated when I see reactors show zero empathy for Screech. Yes, he was a villain in this story BUT he was also a victim. No mom, likely in the system, living in the streets at 14, fighting the same violent mind of his father… His life does not excuse his actions, but it helps us to understand. Still, I’m glad I kept watching. I appreciate your honest vulnerability. It’s a raw, feeling provoking masterpiece. Thank you for posting 💕

Survivor of DV here too, what you said is so so so true. I was in it for 7 years, almost 20 years ago, just like you said it still triggers those emotions all these years later like it was yesterday. I also love what you said about it not being ALL men/women. Too much bitterness in the world. I love this story that Ren gave us. 💜

I was at McDonalds contemplating this video and I read somewhere the inspiration for this happened over years. So that being said this story is one that stays with you so what to me about this story was that Steve was probably the father of the twins which adds to the irony that Violet’s father was abusive then she went to Steve who was the same and she gave birth to Screach who was the final part of this sad legacy of violence 🙏

I love your analysis of how you feel, describing how you are seeing the story unfold before your eyes. Ren has a gift that allows us to paint a picture in our minds that is so real. There are so many nuances to his performance, guitar playing, and singing you do not catch initially. Not to mention the cinematography and acoustics as he is walking down the street, through hallways, in staircases. We have to support Ren in any way we can. The World needs Ren ... he helps so many people.

Lady Jen, you are a Rockstar girl. You are so open. Sharing facts about life that you've been through. I applaud your strength. I, too, fell into a 7 year relationship with a gaslighting, brutal narcissist. I finally found the courage to escape. Restraining orders were filed. Did no good. I escaped in October of 2016. Today, this madman still calls my number to harass me. I've changed my number, so he calls my little elderly mama to get his message through. I never return his calls. Completely NO CONTACT. If you have lived through something like this, it's no wonder you cry over Violets tale. Bless you, sister. Ren is nothing short of genius. A savant. You think his guitar is incredible? You should watch money game 3. Ren can play the piano as well as he plays guitar. Simply amazing is everything he does. Stay beautiful sister. I was crying right along with you for all 3 of these characters. Darn you Ren!!!
