I’m obsessed with watching reaction videos to this song! We all can’t believe the mature voice coming out of that young man. In the 35 years I’ve been hearing this song I never knew what he looked like but this is not what I imagined 😂

This is one of those songs that so far, no matter how tired, disappointed, sick, draggy, pissed or hurt I am, lifts my mood despite myself. It's got more power than most of the miserable black anchors I have ever encountered and that is magic.

The dude knew he was going to lose his privacy, and some sanity, if he stayed in the limelight as most megastars. He kinda retired at 27, not wanting to continue with the whirlwind his talent granted him. Still, his vocals are undeniable. And no auto tune was available at the time. Either you had IT, or you didn't. That simple.

I love watching people react to this.. but still can’t believe that most everyone hasn’t heard this by now. He performed this with Foo Fighters not too long ago at a festival.. RickRolled to the max!! He’s still performing, and still has this great voice! Thanks for your reaction… enjoyed it!

1987. This song was written by the British production team of Stock, Aitken and Waterman. It was inspired by a woman Pete Waterman had been seeing for three years. Rick Astley was staying with Waterman at the time, and after a three-hour phone call with the woman, Astley said, "You're never gonna give her up." Aitken and Waterman then changed the story a bit and made him the one who was vulnerable. In America, the follow-up single was "Together Forever," which has a similar sound and was considered a sequel of sorts to "Never Gonna Give You Up,"

I remember watching this video with my grandma, God rest her sweet soul. She could not and would not believe he was singing. I tried to tell her it reslly was him. She just got mad and yelled, " That boy ain't singing that song!" I just gave up trying to convince her. lol Rick definitely has soul.

Rick was 21 when this came out in 1987. It was his first song, he had 8 hits in the next 5 years. He became disenchanted with the music business and retired at 27. He has started gigging again and has released several albums in the past 5 years. His first new one, 50, premiered in the UK at number one. I really prefer his newer songs. I was a little irritated when they started the rick-rolling crap!! They dang near destroyed the reputation of it!! Thankfully this song (and Rick Astley) prevailed and we can all enjoy it again!! What is so sad about this is people assume someone is black just because of their voice. Maybe schools need to bring back choirs so kids see and hear that all races can sing, have soul and groove. For a society so hung up on diversity and race awareness people are sure ignorant. This just proves that the ones in power have succeeded in blinding the newer generations.
